Bishop Ryan holds off DL-B 49-46
The Bishop Ryan girls basketball team hadn’t been pushed by a District 12 opponent all season.
That test finally came Friday night.
The Lions got 14 points from Annika Stewart to hold off district rival Des Lacs-Burlington 49-46. The win puts the Lions on the verge of securing the top seed for the upcoming district tournament.
The Lions do have two district games remaining against Lewis & Clark-Berthold and South Prairie.
The Lakers, coming off a big home win over Our Redeemer’s Christian School on Tuesday night, got 21 points from Caitlyn Vogel, including 10 in the fourth period.
Both teams are back in action Monday.
DL-B will host Westhope-Newburg, while Ryan will play at Lewis & Clark-Berthold in a makeup from a Jan. 12 postponement.
