O’Keefe earns All-NSIC honor

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Minot State junior Karson O’Keefe was named to the 2015-15 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Conference Team, the league announced Friday.

O’Keefe was named to the six-member second team after a standout junior season where he captured his first medalist honor, winning the Montana State University Billings Yellowjacket Spring Invite in March.

Along with his first title, he finished with two top-10 finishes and two top-five spots in nine events. O’Keefe’s low round of the year was 70 and he averaged 77.1 per outing.

If your name was Schmitz, you captured individual honors its seems this year in men’s golf as Minnesota State’s Kelton Schmitz, a sophomore, was named NSIC Men’s Golfer of the Year, while Michael Schmitz, a freshman at Winona State, was named Newcomer of the Year. WSU’s Jeff Straight was named NSIC Coach of the Year in his first season with the Warriors.
