Do you think Chuck Barney would be Minot's mayor-elect if the write-in candidates had announced sooner and filed to be on the ballot?

  1. Yes
  2. Barely
  3. Doubtful
  4. No way

Since Boomtown is becoming such an exotic city, it needs a new slogan . . .

"Minot: Make it rain!"

Stop fantasizing bill garr. I'm not the trashy type, sorry! I actually worked for a law office while going to college. That's how I know. Dream on.

I've heard no one suggest anything about the mayor's ties to organized crime -- but the man known on the web as "Chuck B." has made no attempt to hide the fact that he has ties to the . . . local exotic dancer scene.

You can't make this stuff up ---

Girly club manager/owner is:

Elected to city council

Finally zoned out of girly club business

Named director of an entrepreneurial program at the local "Great Plains University"

MSU on NCAA Watch List for possible inadequate handling of sexual complaints/issues

Runs unopposed for mayor, endorsed by the local good old boys network (shame on all of you that raised lovely daughters!)

I wonder what the NCAA investigators would think of the whole, sordid situation???

But look on the bright side; at least he has experience bringing in out of state (Milwaukee area) workers !!

Minot had strip clubs in the 30/40/50/60/70/80/90/and 2,000. Minot had illegal booze in the 20s/30s, Minot had ladies of pleasure in 20s/30s/40s/550s/60s/70s/80s/90s/2000s, and tonight. If you don't like it don't go. Mr barney is not the 1st to run a strip club. So take your holly water back to church.

I see. So maybe what we're seeing are attempt to link him to organized crime or something...a modern day Al Capone.

I don't know him personally or anything, but he was the owner of Minot's former, Legends Bar (and dance)! Haha he must be proud! And I also know he, along with some of his attorney buddies frequented it!

OK, someone school me on this Chuck Barney guy. I've been reading the letter and the comments and all I can really get is innuendo and *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*.

I know he's been running for mayor for a long time (I think I recall seeing him name on a ballot when I still lived in Minot...10 years ago) and his wife's a teacher, but other than that I'm in the dark.
