Tanning beds and sun lamps will now carry warnings that they shouldn't be used by anyone under 18. What are your thoughts?

  1. It's necessary
  2. Big Brother strikes again

Obviously they need it. So many people are getting skin cancer at a younger age. People are too dumb to realize the risks. After all 1/2 the population votes republican and call dems names. How mature is that.

Mayo Clinic researchers studied health records dating back to the 1970s in Olmstead County, Mass., and found the number of melanoma cases in young adults has increased more than sixfold in the past 40 years. In young women specifically, the number of cases increased more than eightfold. For young men, the increase was fourfold.(Fox)

Big Brother being proactive BAD!

Big Brother bailing out farmers for losing cattle GOOD!

BBL fits the hypocritical GOP/TP mold very well as in I want all the services but don't want to pay for it.....

The evidence of outstretched hands belonging to so called conservatives is endless.....

Witches too, they should stay away from tanning salons. They weigh less than a duck, so it is very dangerous for witches to visit tanning salons. That fake sunshine is bad for witches, as everyone knows. Save the witches from the dangers of fake sunshine and tanning beds, along with those 18 and under.

Anyone under the age of 18 should be stay inside on sunny days too. Cloudy days and rainy days will be the best time for them to go outdoors.

Stay inside when the sun shines so you won't be exposed to harmful cancer-causing rays from the sun.

When you are 19 years of age, it'll be ok to stand outside during the day while the sun shines.

"yes peterskin you are too dumb to realize the risks and need Obama to take of your needs"

The bill, which made it to the Senate floor last month and is now before the Senate Appropriations Committee, has support from local senators.

"I support this legislation and supported attempts to protect consumers, ensure minors have parental consent and requiring tanning salons to register with the Department of Health," said Sen. Dave Argall, R-Tamaqua.

I rest my case about the 80 something IQ's.....

That tornado in Watford..Obama did it!

Lots of states, including North Dakota, have their own legislation or regulations dealing with use of tanning beds. Didn't see the US Senate dealing with the issue as of late.

Did Justaman mean "local senators" as in Minot's senators?

Ludicrous, just like blaming the President for one's bad hair day. Now indigestion...that might be a different matter entirely.

How in the blue blazes can you take a very real health risk poll and make it political. Stay off these polls if you can't be relevant! I can't believe we have to label tanning beds for risks but I suppose the manufacturers have been getting law suits from people who get skin cancer. We also put labels on blow dryers stating not to submerge in water while using and warnings about coffee being hot at fast food places because people have forgotten to be responsible for their own behavior. This is not a political issue, people. This is a statement on the intelligence and ownership of the average person.

Well locomotive, let's wait for Boehner to announce the govt. has no business in safety regulating of under 18 yr olds.....That'll surely be a campaign winner ya think?

But what the heck, let's drop all regulations & let the radiation in!

Wonder if they'll start polling the masses dying in the street who & what they voted for or against??

I've never used a tanning bed. I've been old school my whole life. If I get a tan, it's because I got my rays outside.

There's regulations for EVERYTHING. I'm not surprised tanning beds have warnings and regs.

Lots of things that "shouldn't be used by anyone under 18" are used anyway.

If it feels good to regulate it, some say do it.

Yes, I also agree however, the idea of developing a uniform safety policy with regard to the scientific information available is necessary!

Why you ask? I'm getting tired of paying for those in Alabama & Mississippi who dismiss science, develope some health issue & expect me to pay for it!!!

So, when will the right get some facts to argue about? Loco, you are good at that? You know, what are the dangers of tanning beds? 1,2,3 Please list them. Aw shucks, that won't work, will it loco. Wingers don't work on facts. Search--Let me see---Melanoma? Now that's a good place to start. Want more help? How about the psyche of women to look beautiful especially for teens. Or, maybe the increases of skin cancer? Ok, how about the rest of you wingers, 1,2,3. search them out, keyz is right, this is not a political thingy, but it is a life or death thingy.

I'm not googling "effects of tanning." We all can do that and come up with a research paper with a grip of info, from both sides of the isle! And that's what you libs don't get. You can research something and usually come up with and find information that's always two sided! So instead of having to read something to believe, why in the heck don't people think and make decisions for themselves? You libs really need the government to tell you something could be harmful? Use your own brain! Tanning beds have unnecessary uv rays, so yes, add to an increased cancer risk! So does living in different areas where the suns rays are stronger year around? Need a warning label for that too? Almost all and anything extra curricular we do has some risk involved. Tanning, drinking, smoking, boating, driving, as well as microwaving food, yadda yadda yadda! The list goes on! Blows my mind that anyone needs to be told by big daddy it could be harmful. Let's think for ourselves more. Time to g

Justa we would all be better off if we held more individual accountability in people. Just because big daddy says there is free food, medical, housing, etc. doesn't mean we have to get it free! I am a prime example of that! Could be getting free handouts galore! All because I am divorced and considered a single mother! I currently have no insurance. Because my work is very part time, from my home so I can be with my children (priority over extra money). I go to obamacare website to get insurance, and get denied for all! But pushed to medicaid! I don't want the handout. Nobody individually or society in general is going to progress positively this way. I know I wouldn't be proud of myself living off other people being taxed 40% their hard earned money. So I make an individual decision to work hard, live basic and give up unnecessary items just for pure feel of accomplishment living on my own. I tell big daddy no thanks. I can do this. I will do this.
