They sure do but this is an example of one more city ordinance that is going unenforced. Some of those jacked up pickups are extremely loud and some of them smoke like they are burning coal for fuel.

Desperate to be Boomtown, USA at any cost, you Republicans made a deal with the devil. Now, when the loud cars, trucks and prostitutes clog your streets -- you want to add a police "crack down" so you can cheat the devil out of his due.
Of course, after you pay for more policing, you have to build more jails for the criminals you've created. Next comes more fixes for more broken families and battered communities.
So, the answer is NO . . . no, you can't retroactively police a BOOM.

Alternatively, we could just regulate oil production out of existence, or at least back to pre-boom levels because we can't handle the side-effects of rapid growth. Who's desperate now, PJ?

If the state had a yearly vehicle inspection standardization then a lot of this unwanted booming, loud mufflers and such would be unwaranted. The money collected goes to lower property taxes. In addition, the police should be doing their job 16th St SW is not a drag strip and noise pollution is unnwarranted.......
