Bill Garr, it's a free country. You go everywhere and shoot you mouth off as truth. I like hearing what Matt Roth Child has to say.

PJ: Your "truth" to which you so desperately cling is an arbitrary and capricious line in the sand with no basis in reality.

But hey, anything to validate your prejudice and bias.

"My 7th grade gym teacher measured my class wrong, so I don't believe 2 out of 3 people in ND are overweight. I deny the fact that 1 out of every 3 is medically obese -- so now, no health crisis exists."

Hey, PJ, you jerk, you should have been there to actually see what was taking place. Nobody measured anyone wrong; they did the measurements exactly as instructed. It was the standards themselves that were completely messed up. But we wouldn't want that to get in the way of your prejudice and bias. Oh, but you have "science" on your "side", so that makes it OK!

You should have been there to see it yourself. The kids who were being labelled "overweight" and "obese"...weren't. Unless you think that a healthy weight entails being one of those heavily airbrushed models in magazines...

All I know is that if these sovereign nations would just start charging a little more in taxes, then ND wouldn't be such a welfare state, getting all that ND 'welfare' for the 'nations'.....they could be more self-supporting, with all that casino-monopoly money and all...

". . . I recall how one day during gym class, we all filed in and had those measurements taken. Whatever standard they used was completely messed up. There were people being placed in the 'overweight' and 'obese' category that clearly didn't belong there."

What they decide to do on the Reservation is not my business. They get monthly checks every month from the government, so extra taxes on Junk food isn't going stop them from buying it. If North Dakota is going to define what junk food is, and implement a special tax on it, there will be a lot more people, than me, going to Montana and buying their groceries and goods. No sales tax.

Whole dairy like milk and white flour were once praised by the AMA to the tune of 3 glasses of milk a day. Now it is poison for your arteries. Statins r prescribed for cholesterol in your blood instead of for plaque in arteries. People with no plaque problem r prescribed statins which to some r more damaging than cigarettes. Junk food is determined by the waffling AMA.

What is junk is often decided by the AMA and their record on facts is horrible. Butter and eggs were bad and margarine was good. Not now. Alternative medical folks were hunted by the FBI for prompting tea, flax seed, cayenne pepper, papaya, vitamins and much more--all of which r now promoted by the AMA. Cigarettes r the villain 4 lung cancer yet i know of no one with it. I do know of scores of people with cancer of the pancreas, liver, breasts, colon, skin, stomach and bone. I know cigs r bad but why are the causes of other cancers like breast seemingly ignored? Big money in oil, chemicals, and food want those ignored.

Enough with the taxes--We are building more jails and increasing space--just put all the obese people in so they lose weight. This will be the effective deterrent they seem to want--like alcohol and drug abuse!!! Who is going to benefit from the tax revenue.
