One thing remains the same here, no matter what the MDN does...

billgrr's "hate filled one sided vitriol" against all who disagree with him.

The YES Committee must have been on vacation. Seriously, they are trying reverse physcology this time. They are not asking for a Yes, but want a yes. They are not asking for $125, but want it in smaller amounts. Very sneaky, which is why you need to keep the children in mind when you Vote NO.

It's fun to vote Republican and pretend to be rich . . . until the bill arrives. Suddenly you hoople-moochers are reminded that you can't afford to keep pretending.

You all never saw this coming? Big thanks in part with one poster having multiple accounts.

Vitriol indeed; look into your own mirror and why the Minot Daily put up with it this long should be the next poll question.

Legend, In order for you to comment on the unsigned MDN editorials it will cost you $150.00 per year. They want their hate filled one sided vitriol to be pure and unadulterated. They do this by neutralizing opposing views. The Nazi party did the very same thing.

Well Legend, the no-comment editorial situation may be on account of our commenting on their editorials. In other words we're not entitled to an opinion on their opinion. Whoever "they" are.

Yes closing the nat. parks during the shutdown was the correct thing to do. If they cancel their contract work--they pay 4 no work at all. Don't yell "shut it down" from sequester unless u r prepared 4 the consequences. Many Fed employees work during shutdowns to protect Fed. assets--without a promise of pay.

the same amount of infrastructure/buildings as in the 1970s when it housed 10k plus students cannot handle 7400 students today....the numbers don't lie like their scary commericials.

landslide: are you seriously so naive that you can not comprehend the financial benefit that a local university brings to a community? Somehow I'd bet that you're fine with churches being exempt from paying taxes, and I'd bet you find the airforce base helpful to our local economy. However, when the entity in question provides education and research, it suddenly fails your contribution calculus.

muleskinner: statoil contributes to the wealth fund precisely because Norway is a socialist country. If you think that such policy is beneficial to the state as well as its population, then I suggest you reconsider your staunch opposition to all things progressive. It does seem odd that an oil company can extract 'liquid gold' from US lands, and keep virtually all the profit from the enterprise. It would indeed be nice if the people could benefit from our national resources; it seems that instead we just get stuck dealing with the unintended consequences.

I agree landslide...the education complex needs to expand just like the military industrial complex that Ike warned us about....just say NO to new taxes on the working poor.

No because the need is an oil impact and should be paid 4 with oil impact funds. We keep looking the other way and the tossed filter socks r proof. If we can't find the owner, we pay 4 the disposal and the owner takes the money and runs. Very tired of paying 4 oil. TAKE THAT TO WASHINGTON.
