Pretty much anyone with an employer except company hands get paid through the trickle down effect. An example is the employer is paid $700.00/day per worker but only gives the worker $500.00/day, the employer keeps a percentage for running the office and office personnel. Anyway that is what is meant in the oilfield when you hear trickle down.

some, but not much. If you own a business, you might make more. If you are a long time resident, even if your paycheck has gone up a little, your expenses have gone up a lot. Trickle down didn't work for Reagan either!

None. The money flows up and out...

PERFECT QUESTION! this shows the object stupidity of these daily commenters!! I doubt that there is anyone, who does anything other than sit on their butt and live off of the Gov., who hasn't benifited from whats going on in N.D. in one way or another! The trickle down effect works! But you have to work at it, not just hold out your hand and whine!!!!

It is abject stupidity, not object.

Whether or not there is, one thing is certain:
the people who didn't position themselves to benefit from it hate it and will do anything they can to talk it down and bring the oilfield activity to an end because they're jealous of those who did position themselves to benefit from it.
Those who did position themselves to benefit from it are happy as can be.

All the socialist progressives know that it's is only the government that lets money trickle down to the unproductive "takers" in society unless it is their check from George Soros trickling down to them

All of us pay about $1,000.00 more in increased costs (not including taxes) from the boom. Not all get a pay raise to cover that. What does trickle down is mostly taken from higher housing, ins. and service costs. Those retired or on fixed incomes see no trickle down, just increased costs. If trickle down were completely true; you would not see all the help wanted ads in the service industry. They can't afford to live here. Trickle down is the republican economic policy that failed under Ronald Reagan and caused the 2008 collapse. Greenspan said it does not work because of greed.

it would be doing even better with a pipeline

Trickle down is not a Reagan Administration invention. The term was used back in 1854. The trickle down back then was a cartoon of a horse drinking water at a watering trough and the trickle down was at the other end.
That's just what North Dakotans are getting.

Why would you people think that if the oil corporations make a ton of money -- you will get some of it?
Big Oil hasn't trickled anything down to you before.

Something must be working. Everyone that comes here can get a job immediately. It's better than no work at all.
"Everyone that comes here"?
This is the least visited state in the nation. There's no place less popular.
Are you kidding me?
"Everyone that comes here" -- is a punchline to a very bad joke.

PJ keep telling yourself that. Who Cares? Did I say "visitors"? I said job hunters and they are getting them here.

There is no trickle down...the boom has driven up the housing costs and increased wear and tear on roads, schools supposedly bulging at the seams....crime is at a all time high...GO HOME BIG OIL....BAN FRACKING NOW

I'm not sure anyone figured out that this is a "trick" le question as usual.
The answer is YES of course!
Cause and effect might be as simple as why a can of Pringles cost $3.85 or how I've been afforded a chance to secure my families needs, but no doubt there are 500,000 similar and different answers to this question as the Bakken Oil Play is affecting many, many lives.
Wouldn't it be nice if the Media featured a daily story from anyone of those folks affected? 50/50 trickled on North Dakotans.

PJ, now how does that make me a bigot? I have lived in ND, same town, since I was born. Why should you tell me how to live on my land that has been in my family 100 yrs. I don't know who you are and nor do I care, but don't tell me how to live in my space that is mine and what my Parents worked for. I won't tell you how to live in your area, another thought don't talk to me and I surely won't talk to you. Simple. Now who is the Bigot?
