Do you get the impression that The Associated Press is out to smear the Air Force with its overblown running dossier of "missteps" and "blunders' involving nuclear weapons?

Do you get the impression that The Minot Daily News is never going to publish a negative story about the Air Force, Trinity Hospital, The City of Minot, BNSF, Oil, or any other number of entities that it is nothing more than a mouthpiece for?

Believe it or not, reporting bad news can actually be beneficial to our community - it's the idea that shining light on something messy (like a drug ring/cheating scandal amongst officers) will force change to happen. It's the power of the pen. The MDN does not believe in this. It believes in the power of the Minot elite, and not disturbing it.

Seriously, if you are actually paying for this rag you need to think of alternates to line your birdcage. And a true sign of a newspaper that is in no way prepared for the 21st century and their declining circulation is the fact that there is no paywall on this website. But even the brain trust at Ogden Newspapers knows that nobody in their right mind would pay to access this hot mess.

Missteps and blunders involving nuclear weapons ARE news and need to be reported.

I think it is a huge problem but they are spending too much time on it. It would be nice if the press would spend some time on the Obama fiasco's Bengazi, IRS, the fact that he has not created any jobs while being president and the fact that he does his best to beat america down and create racial and class divide.

Lots of bloviating and total nonsense about the Minot Daily and its credibility factor. Smarmy insults of the Minot Daily are at an all time high. Smear the MDN and give it cheap jabs is standard operating procedure.

Something the Minot Daily tolerates to an extreme, bearing in mind that folks can more or less speak their minds here, they should feel more obliging and thank the Minot Daily for allowing the 'Minot Daily is a rag' or 'the Minot Daily does not have reporters or new gatherers or a competent staff of editors' and 'the Minot Daily blah blah blah blah blah' complete drivel to be published. The Minot Daily is kind enough to allow it to continue. The Minot Daily knows they can't make fools out of fools and don't even try, the fools making fools of themselves is the proof in the pudding.

Consider yourselves lucky. Might want to consider your critiques as total unadulterated bovine excrement.

You moron bigots don't even know how to spell Benghazi -- let alone know what happened there.

Just because FOX tells you sheeple to repeat some line of BS nonsense doesn't mean you have to.

FOX also told you Mitt Romney was a shoe-in for the White House . . . why aren't you still bleating that talking point?

It would be nice if you could learn to spell or form a coherent sentence.

Come on now. Of course this AP reporting is overblown. It's only nuclear weapons we're talking about here; no big deal if anything goes wrong, right?

@WillGarr2016 I would say that you are the one drinking the kool-aid from the Obama camp. If you think there is nothing to all these scandals you are over the legal limit of kool-aid too. The only reason that things are not being investigated is that the CNN's and MSNB's of the world are in with Obama and his lies.......have you ever heard them ask him any tough questions?? Have a nice day!

Wait, so reporting real news stories is a smear tactic now? MDN I'm sorry but you smear Obama every chance you get then you have the balls to put this as a poll? I just checked in vegas and they are saying MDN has a 1/2 chance that the next poll question is a smear against Obama

realwildchyld sez: "It would be nice if the press would spend some time on the Obama fiasco's Bengazi, IRS, the fact that he has not created any jobs while being president and the fact that he does his best to beat america down and create racial and class divide."

The reason, sir, is because all those items you mentioned are not real issues. They are right-wing conspiracies created by paranoid racists. If the shoe fits...

Peace and Semper Fidelis...

@The1RugbyReader So Obama has created some jobs? Also I would respect your point of view if you wouldn't call me a racist and paranoid......I have a african american girlfriend that has the same views as I do about Obama.....is she racist? I don't hate the man just the job he has done while in office.

No the AP is not out to smear the Air Force concerning maintaining the control of nuclear weapons. This is something that is taken very seriously in the military, and any time that any individual screws up they get hammered, which is the correct thing to do. The real story that was not reported is that the Wing Commander, missile squadron commanders and operations officers were also probably fired and given assignments to somewhere obscure or told to retire.
