Should parents allow their 4 year-old child to have a loaded handgun?

Every city should allow fireworks for New years eve, it would allow those of us who don't drink and party to do something fun to celebrate...... what is worse half the city going out to their favorite bar drrinking until they can't walk or a family of 4 safely shooting off some fireworks???

I always thought that big corporations put on fireworks shows all over the country on New Years. I guess I didn't think of people shooting off bottle rockets and firecrackers in their own neighborhoods to celebrate. Seems pointless to me I guess.

It would be a great idea if people still respected other peoples property, but sadley they don't.During the 4th some idiot shot bottle rockets on my property, without permission, and thet landed all over my equipment leaving marks and a mess on my land! They could have easily caused a fire and major damage.
Too much chance for a fire somewhere and its hard enough for fight a fire in the subzero conditions....I say...no way!!!!

Fireworks aren't allowed in the city limits during the fourht of July, so why New Year's? I don't have an issue with it if you take them out of town like you do on the fourth. Safer than the fourth with snow on the ground concerning the fire risk and gives a family something to do as stated already.

No need for fireworks, there are so many Fun minot activities in the winter. The indoor waterpark, the indoor putt putt, Chuck e cheese, indoor amusement park...
Well, I can dream at least...

Only for permitted organized New Years events. Not so the general public can just run around and shoot off fireworks all around town. Like someone else mention, why New Years when Minot doesn't even allow them on the 4th of July.

People shoot them off in town anyways, so what's it matter.
people kill and steal anyway so why make those illegal? Fireworks would be great, if they were only that night and nothing after 1 a.m., but that is not how it would be. Even though illegal on the 4th, they are being shot off for 10 days and well into the night. And, people do no respect property of others.

Aw man there is nothing like the sound of a big cannon at midnight, the kind that will buckle your knees and knock your hat off.
From the article about the downtown Christmas celebration in today's paper it looks like they ok'd fireworks in city limits of minot... maybe only for the elite though.
