Do you think Social Security will still exist when you are ready to retire?

  1. Yes, unchanged
  2. Yes, but reduced benefits
  3. Maybe not
  4. Broke and gone

PJ try eating that federal dollar for breakfast, you will find that grains and meats taste better and will sustain life. Breaking down the American farmer and turning the business of raising our food over to the government doesn't sound to good to me. You can experiment and eat only USDA (supplemental) foods for a month and get back to us how that is working for you.

Social Security is the Federal Insurance Corporation of America.

It is money that you earn and then pay to the insurance plan to qualify for Social Security benefits when you retire.

The money belongs to those who have paid the insurance from earnings. The only thing the US gov can do to get their grubby greedy hands on it is to legislatively steal it and they do.

Every single Social Security beneficiary has paid for the benefits and are entitled to collect the money since it is theirs to begin with.

I would like to see those 2 dollars received to North Dakotans in the form of a check. All of the taxes that I have paid in 2012 times 2 will be a nice sized check for me.

I won't hold my breath or stand on one leg.

PoeticJustice14 likes to point with pride and view with alarm while he sips his morning coffee and turns on the computer to let the world know how it is all bad all of the time.

When discussing how much federal money comes into ND as opposed to being paid in by North Dakotans, it's instructive to keep in mind that, in combination with the state's small population, there are several VERY expensive federal government projects going on in the state at the same time. Most states don't have two air bases, for example. And I'm sure there's a goodly amount of farm subsidies thrown in there also. And let's not forget that we have multiple indian reservations.

Yeah, I can totally see how ND gets $2 of federal money for every $1 its people pay in. And I don't see it as a good thing or a bad thing, just a thing. It is what it is. If you don't like it, then I suggest you lobby for closure of the two air bases, ending farm subsidies, and shuttering the reservation system, which is about a century out of date anyway.

Yep, it is what it is:

So what adds more value? Lobbying the people who have control over the aforementioned programs demanding they be brought to an end, or coming on here and saying things in the most inflammatory manner possible knowing full well that you'll rile up and anger the sensibilities of your neighbors?

One of these things adds value to the conversation. The other destroys value and detracts from the conversation. You've amply demonstrated anew the category you so consistently occupy.

PoeticJustice14 Could you please share with us how you became so obsessed with this 2 to 1 dollar situation?? if you can explain how the fact that the airbases and other federal projects are welfare people would be less inclined to think so poorly of you.

"Stop being racist.Stop the war on Women. Stop being stupid and most of all stop using teabags.Let me know when you have these worked out..."

leftywing, I don't accept the premise that the things listed are solely Republican.

What about Alan Grayson and his controversial fund-raising ad that uses a flaming cross ala klan racists? Why in this day and age would anyone want to do this? Are all Democrats on board with Grayson's tactics and his use of the flaming cross, which offends the sensibilities of many?

What about San Diego ex-mayor Filner, the Democrat womanizer, that even willgrr said was a pig. I agree, he is a pig. So are all Democrats to be considered womanizing pigs? Do all want to act just like Filner? Get real.

Y'know, saying Republicans are "stupid" might make you feel good about yourself and your Democrat party, but it ain't necessarily so, leftywing. And it's such an easy thing to throw around - no heavy lifting involved.

PJ is too ignorant to understand welfare is different defense. Now, what does he have to say to the Native American population? Farm subsidies and airport subsidies need to go. Of course, NOW we have federal health insurance subsidies, but we need those right, PJ?

VERITAS By all means that is a fair question for you to ask, at least in my eyes. I have no doubt you are a hard working individual just like the majority of the posters on this board...... I must say I disagree with you what seems like 100% of the time, but that is just politics! lol

Veritas, let's get real for a minute. I do provide facts/research/sources when, how and if I want to or feel like it.

Do the libs provide sources whenever asked? Uh, no, it's usually "go look it up yourself" or some other such dismissive statement. Besides, the sources themselves have been dismissed too, especially if they've been the "right-wing" type. Anathema, I guess.

So in order to remain equal, and I'm all into that anyway, I'll just do as I please concerning "facts" 'cuz that's exactly what libs do.

Well, after being gone for the weekend, I see that nothing has changed especially on the blog. Obviously, President Obama is the resident evil and never, ever does anything even close to right. It is also obvious that the only ones to present factual items on the blogs are the Republicans and especially Loco/whistler. Well, that certainly figures. I think Loco's last two blogs are probably the most hilarious. Providing supportive data to your blogs is almost a non-existant part of your comments. Over and over again you pretend to show some factual background to your comments, but when challenged on your statements, you change the subject/hide/make negative comments towards the challenger or accuse the left of not providing data. I have challenged your comments many times and you follow that same pattern. Your statement at 9:32 is total incorrect. It's "always" the libs fault? Ha

"For what it's worth:

15 states have 2 or more AF bases.

10 states have 2 or more navy bases.

30 states have 2 or more Army bases.

40 states have more military personnel than North Dakota"

Quoting absolute numbers is fine, but what is that in proportion to those various states' overall population. We're looking for per capita, not absolute numbers.

And remember, there were other pieces to my analysis as well.

Like I stated, when you have nothing you resort to changing the subject or put downs to stroke your own ego. Let us not get into that man-man thing of mine is bigger than yours. That is all you are about. Since whistler is a new handle to the blog, who were you the first two or three times you were thrown off the blog? Oh, and the statement I made about lack of facts on your part-absolutely true.

Obama flies in Air Force One, plays golf on scenic courses, enjoys all of the privileges of the presidency and common ordinary sheeple are forced to buy (enslaved) health insurance by government mandate. Joe Schmoe is being scammed big time and the all wise US gov says so. Gimme a break.

Something is very wrong with the picture.

In Russia, refuseniks were given a death sentence.

And we're worried about Social Security being there when everything else possible is wrong?

Are we there yet? Are we completely controlled by the State yet?

Uff da louie
