REALITY CHECK: the STATE might get that money back, I danged sure never see it again. my money goes to paying the mayor and city council who flood the city and then ask for more money to fix their mistakes. that's money out of MY pocket. money out of MY fixed income.

e. all of the above
"It's very clear that any and all ND complaints about taxes are absurd."
Should this statement be...
a) taken seriously?
b) considered as made by an outsider to this state?
c) chalked up to somebody's continual unhappiness about all things North Dakotan?
d) relieved from its suffering?
e) all of the above?

There's nothing misleading or confusing about a state putting ONE dollar of taxes in and taking TWO out.
It's very clear that any and all ND complaints about taxes are absurd.
And no, you can't just chock up all the mooching to farmers.
The welfare goes to North Dakota. Directly or indirectly -- the entire state receives those federal handouts in the form of "subsidies," "grants," "incentives," -- and so-called, tax "loopholes," big enough to drive an oil rig through.

It is located on the corner in front of the old B&B Drug store. If memory serves me, the pharmacist, Mr. Berg, had it refurbished and set up during last downtown redo. Well maybe not the latest one, but the one when they made main street snake like. That lasted only a few years.!! I don't remember who gifted it originally. I was but a wee young thing back then!!;-)
There's a historic water fountain in downtown Minot? Where is it located? Who gifted it?
There are two military bases, 4 Indian Reservations, NG, and farmers plus others who receive federal money. Then add the many airports that are subsidized by the feds including Jamestown airport because it can't sustain itself, but the tax money that these folks are referring to is our own city sales tax and property tax. The fountain should stay where it is. The city could build a huge dome over downtown to protect the fountain from the elements and so everyone could walk from one new downtown park to the next.

That is a miss leading statistic.....I believe that most of that money goes to farmers through the farm program, so in reality it goes to a small percentage of the population.
I think Obama should put a closed sign on it!!
It's always disturbing to hear these complaints about taxes.
North Dakotans get back almost TWO dollars from the feds for every ONE dollar they put in.

whatever costs the taxpayer the most will be their decision. after all, it's only tax dollars and we all know it's way too cheap living here already.

better yet, leave downtown as it is. the redesign is a very expensive, bad idea. i'm seeing enough of my tax dollars wasted on bull crap.
