Has the administration been deliberately punitive in the way it cut services during the partial shutdown of the federal government?

  1. Yes, ridiculously so
  2. Maybe in some cases
  3. Not at all

at least the messiah can still golf - that's more important than death benefits for our Veterans. Amazing how people will sell their soul if they think they'll get free stuff taken from others that produce.

One would want to believe that murkans would want to think, but that is giving them the benefit of the doubt.

There is an excuse for ignorance, but not for stupidity.

Propaganda does work, people are easily brainwashed.

That is the mantra of the right wing. After all we see it all the time. Every five minutes---"fair and balanced" but Fox also gives millions of dollars to republicans. Yep, mule, you are quoting right wing policy. Oh, and the policy of the US is that you don't negotiate with terrorists.

VERITAS

Administration in this context always means the president and his staff, it would mean that if Reagan was still the president.

The truth is Obama is the only one shutting down national parks and monuments and even places that he has no authority to close! It is Obama that has ordered the park rangers to be as disruptive to people as posible the republicans and the tea party have no voice in that at all.......but nice try trying to deflect the blame by trying to make people think that administration doesn't mean the sitting president.

I can see that the wildchyld's source of information is right wing talk radio. More garbage in and more garbage out. Got any conspiracy theories to throw in with that fairy tale you just spun.

VERITAS What I said was Obama is the administration and they are the ones closing national parks and the like......I think that each party is responsible for a certain part of the shut down but our president is the one calling for things to be made dificult for us.

I do listen to the right wing radio hosts on XM Radio but to be fair I listen to an equal amount of the left wing radio hosts each and every day......so you can forget that arguement buddy!!!

I listen to both sides so that when I get a chance to voice an opinion and cast a vote I know that I am qualified to do so. I don't always agree with the right wing point of view but to be truthfull it is about 80% of the time. The left wing I agree with sometimes but not very often because they are so way out in left field it just makes no sense how anybody could think that way.

Point is don't ever think that I don't listen to both sides of a situation.

I'm no fan of Bonehead so I can't help you there.....but you seem to love Obama and worship the golf course he plays on so why don't you ask HIM to take a break from golfing and negotiate with the otherside????

He is rummored to be a great at bringing people together!!!

The House of Representatives will NOT pass anything that does not include the defunding of the Affordable Health Care Act, and they don't care who they hurt in order to do away with this program. They have to join for their medical care just like everybody else, with the exception of active duty military, and they don't like it and their end job is to defund the program and nothing else!!

I'd say the administration hasn't been "punitive" in all of this. On the contrary, the agencies proportionally hit the hardest by the shutdown's furlough include workers at NASA and the EPA, Labor, and the Interior - provinces of the left wing, according to the more curmudgeonly tea party types. And with each passing day, the cuts soften as positions become rediscovered as "mission essential".

Whistler said: "Readers have to get halfway into the Associated Press report on its new AP-GFK poll to find this out, but Barack Obama’s job approval numbers have cratered in the shutdown."

If you press yourself to read the other half of the report, Congress holds an abysmal 5 percent approval rating. While 52 percent of respondents did indeed find that Obama is not doing enough to coöperate with Republicans to end the shutdown, 63 percent also said that Republicans aren’t doing enough to coöperate with him. But at the end of the day, it's difficult to gauge the accuracy of the poll because its online-only methodology is new for the Ap-Gfk.

abcnews . go . com/Politics/wireStory/digits-moving-ap-gfk-poll-online-20513959

"The AP-GfK Poll released Wednesday marks the start of a new era for AP polling. From now on, regular polling from the AP and GfK, a global survey research company based in Germany, will be conducted online, interviewing from a unique group of willing survey takers that is representative of all Americans.

"The science behind polling says that in order for survey research to work, respondents must be randomly selected rather than self-selected and everyone in the population must have a chance of being asked to participate.

"GfK addresses this by recruiting its panel from a random selection of all Americans with either a telephone or a home. That's pretty much everyone. GfK calls it KnowledgePanel...."

cont...

"Recruiting this way means that KnowledgePanel does reach people who do not have Internet access. GfK provides a connection and a laptop to those who agree to participate and do not already have access. Once they're selected, poll participants earn rewards as they complete surveys.

"The AP has used KnowledgePanel to conduct polling in the past, most notably through the 2008 AP-Yahoo! panel study tracking voters' views throughout the presidential campaign that year.

"Before making the switch for our regular polling, the AP and GfK conducted parallel polls of the American public in April. One used a telephone sample including both landline telephones and cellphones; the other used KnowledgePanel.

"Using KnowledgePanel allows the AP and GfK to conduct research that relies on scientific principles while taking advantage of the new ways Americans communicate."

Diogenist was right about the "new methodology" and I just confirmed it.

This phrase from the abc article was interesting, to say the least.

"Once they're selected, poll participants earn rewards as they complete surveys."

I'm sorry, but an image of lab rats and cheese came to me as I read this...

Gov shutdown is a laugher.

Everybody is going to get paid. The gov is still going strong at 95 percent in force, so nothing really has changed except for a few days off for a few thousand folks out there.

Obama fiddles while America burns.

It's another bread and circus day.

Bread and Circus Day should be declared a national holiday.

Anyone that thinks it is the fault of anyone except the emperor is a total idiot!I will talk to anyone any time as long as they do everything my way and give me what ever I want! That kinda says it all! The emperor is doing ever filthy thing he can think of to make life miserable for as many people as he possibly can, just so he can get them to put pressure on the Rep, to give his way! Like the spoiled LITTLE PR!(K he is. If you can't see that you are a blind idiot!

After the Dead American soldiers came home, and there families didn't get to be there when their caskets came out of the plane. Obama could not afford it, I think other people stepped up and got them there. I would never vote Democrat again in the future. Obama doesn't care about our men protecting us nor does he care about the Vets. He care only for himself. It sickens me.
