  1. Yes, ridiculously so
  2. Maybe in some cases

billygitmo, I don't have a boyfriend other than my husband. Like I've said before, one boyfriend is quite enough.

All plagiarizing aside, it'd be nice if some lefties would do as they say and not as they do...

billgitmo: "This week I called some Republicans I used to talk to (and some that they recommended I talk to) about the effect the shutdown is having on the Republican Party in Washington...."

Suppposedly, this is billgitmo talking turkey. Sorry folks, no such drumstick.

His stuff is from a "New Republic" article written by John B. Judis (wonder how that's pronounced) dated 10-10-13.

Article's title: "The Last Days of the GOP - We could be witnessing the death throes of the Republican Party"

Sure, those folks at the New Republic REALLY CARE about the GOP. Now I'll tell another one.

And btw, billgitmo, you didn't really plagiarize in your post, did you? I don't care, but perhaps some do, like your buddy willgrr. I can just feel his disappointment...

A small fact: MDN gets to choose which poster's words stay, capitalists that they are.

If one's looking for a completely free forum, there's always the street corner, unless the police come along and ticket for disturbing the peace.

A small idea: buy a newspaper and publish whatever you want.

"The amount of money lost on this shutdown should not be at taxpayer expense rather the Govt. should put a lien on the Koch Bros. to pay it back!"

I suppose a source is not needed for this one, because it is so passionately delivered. After all, isn't that what counts in a "Feelings vs Facts" showdown?

"Accepting demands from hardline ideologues perpetrated by 1/2 of 1/3 of a democracy is not cutting a deal or Negotiating..."

Has anyone ever imagined that people (i.e., constituents, voters, citizens) are CALLING their elected officials to weigh in on this current situation? And as a result, it might not get to be Beltway Business as normal?

Many people are still facing unemployment, in spite of rosy figures trotted out for the masses. The "recovery" is slow and far from complete. Many jobs have been relegated to part-time status as a direct result of the burdens placed upon employers by the "wonderful" Obamacare Tax.

That's the real story in America. Real people are fed up with shenanigans in DC. Why can't the gov't NOT spend more than it takes in, like Normal Americans?

Get a clue, DC. Get rid of the juvenile posturing--if that shoe fits, wear it, whoever you are. Sit down at the budget table and use the knife and fork to CUT SPENDING. It's

The answer is a resounding NO. Who shut down the government? Republican extremists and our Senators and Congress.

Obstructionist's rule. Chaos beckons their support.

I would like to hear about our Senators and Congress representatives have on their minds.

MDN - Tell me what is our ND stance from our representatives. Alas you will not because your bias is your constitution.

We need a new ND News org that represents our readers. This paper is not worth the temporary fire of it's burning on a cold night. It is Wholly unabashedly biased. Sorry but you folks who spend your time here are being played...

Accepting demands from hardline ideologues perpetrated by 1/2 of 1/3 of a democracy is not cutting a deal or Negotiating - but suicidal to democratic principles where a minority can rule/demand there way by threatening the whole with financial annihilation. It is extortion and blackmail. No Negotiation. Period, because the USA committed to the current obligations. They are LIARS if they do not allow payment of the bills which were approved by our Constitution. If that is not enough then change the constitution to NEVER let the faith and credit of the USA be tormented by those who are willing to put our debt to our lenders up for debate. There is no debate. Americans pay for their debts and the congress Pays for its "approved" outlays. NO MORE GIVE AND TAKE and if you are you are a free loadin ANARCHIST then go back down your hole, because a handshake and the word of The USA is NOT negotiable..

After the Dead American soldiers came home, and there families didn't get to be there when their caskets came out of the plane. Obama could not afford it, I think other people stepped up and got them there. I would never vote Democrat again in the future. Obama doesn't care about our men protecting us nor does he care about the Vets. He care only for himself. It sickens me.
