"Only a third would consider President Barack Obama responsible for a shutdown, with 51% pointing a finger at the GOP - up from 40% who felt that way earlier this year," CNN
Specific answer to the specific question is the faction of the far right that hides in the Republican Party.
This unwillingness to negotiate or compromise by the Ted Cruz's is echoed in the prior post from BDGI.
While everyone is entitled to their opinion...Some people should stay out of policy making if they are unwilling to solve problems...This be people like bdgi too!

Republicans have been attempting to shut the government down since they won the majority in the House in 2010. They seem to not realize that the majority in the House gives them control over 1/2 of 1/3 of the Government, not a mandate to demand "their way or the highway".
Republicans don't want "small government". They want no government at all and try often to force a government shutdown to prove it.

"Garr You did know that only white people were killed right???
Dumb question You probably didnt know that.. your not to good at reading the whole story.. you grab and go.."
This is similar to your "Romney in a landslide" quote.
Have you ever been correct about anything?

Wallace said, “This has been one of the strangest weeks I’ve ever had in Washington. And I sat that, because as soon as we listed Ted Cruz as our featured guest this week, I got unsolicited research and questions, not from Democrats, but from top Republicans who — to hammer Cruz. Why are Republicans so angry at Ted Cruz?”
Can you imagine the shock on Chris Wallace’s face when he got his usual weekly talking points, and they targeted a Republican instead of a Democrat? That is an earth shaking event at Fox News. It should be noted that Wallace did exactly what the Republican establishment wanted during his interview with Cruz. He went out of his way to prove that the Texas senator’s plan was destined to fail.

a government shutdown would be a blessing in disguise. the president, Nancy Pelosi, all of politicians, they will all be minus a paycheck it'll be great. what more could you ask for? those pigs will squeal until the cows come home.

Chris Wallace may or may not have used the opposition research that he was provided, but he definitely did everything he could to kill support for the Cruz/DeMint defund Obamacare movement.
It's important to understand WHY there might be a govt. shutdown and the devestating financial effects many Americans might endure just to satisfy Ted Cruz's ego!
"Legitimate" political parties don't default on the debt they rang up
"Legitimate" political parties don't lie about laws their party created.
"Legitimate" political parties sure as heck don't tell Americans to drop their health insurance just to spite a President.
The GOP is no longer a legitimate political party.

The consequences of a shutdown or a default on paying the bills would be probably the biggest folly ever for the Republicans. It would truly establish the fact that they really don't care about the country and are only the mouthpiece for big corporations. I would still like to know why there has been almost Six Hundred Million dollars spent in advertising against the health care bill? If it is so bad, why do anything. Or, is there a fear that it will work, that people will have insurance, and the big corporations will lose their strangle hold on the health care industry. Oh, and then there will be a decrease in political contributions to the Republicans. The party of insignificance is the REpublican party.
BDGI... Why won't you address your Kenya Mall shooting comments?

I'd have liked to vote for "none of them".
Remember, "we" voted to put these people into office. "We" made all manners of unsustainable demands that brought it to this point. Is blaming politicians merely a ploy to evade responsibility?
I hope the Reps. are responsible for a Gov. shut down! Somebody needs to stop the emperor and his insane programs to destroy America! This guy is a self loving, insane, power hungry punk with a dictator complex, someone had better stop him or it will be HE(( to pay for all of us even you idiot libs!!!!

Its pretty bad when California is sending people to Washington to help with the Veterans files that are buried. Some of their vets have been waiting 160 days to over 360 days for their benefits. Ya, Obama really cares about our vets. I'm sure Obama hasn't missed a paycheck yet.

Dear leader is using his 'laser like focus" this morning giving a speech at the UN that he tried to bypass 2 weeks ago and tell the world how much he cares while using the NSA to spy on them. He has already said he will not compromise with Congress so why bother trying to talk to Congress to solve anything. There must be a golf course around here somewhere.

"Anywhere do you see the word African?"
I didn't need to "see" the "word" African when my eyes actually saw dead Africans. Black ones and White ones. This flies in the face of your assertion that "Garr You did know that only white people were killed right???"
Am I NOT understanding something here? Are all the TV stations in cohoots? Did I not see dead Black people?
Maybe a less mentally challenged winger could explain BDGI. Maybe locomotive can explain this.

Like the true Sus barbatus bdgi is, digging & digging hoping to find a dirty truffle to satisfy his appetite for bamabash...This post is so sad it's funny!
Comparing Brazil's Presidents dirty laundry to human rights violation...
How does that rank with One Million dead from the WMD war or the 100K and the 2-3 million refugees in Syria...
Someone needs a reality check x 10!
