The snap program feeds those in need and prevents dumpster diving. If you are eligible for a free cell phone, you can have food stamps too. If Dick Cheney can have heart surgery to implant a pumping device where a heart should be, paid for by the taxpayer, then those poor obese white folk can have free food.

Apparently any program that smacks of socialism cannot stand alone for funding from our government-always has to be robbing Peter to pay Paul. Social Security another example. Just try and get this program paid from the "General Fund" whatever that is--Snap-really a small expenditure when looking at the whole US budget.

Understanding food stamp usage has nearly doubled as a result of the recession something needs to be done.
Understanding the Defense budget has gone up 540% in the last ten years something needs to be done.
Understanding the top 10 companies in America paid relatively no taxes last year something needs to be done.
Understanding Health Care costs have risen 380% in the last 10 years something needs to be done.
Well, for now anyway we'll start with the food stamp program...

why do we have food banks, if a family of three are getting between $300 and $450 a month, what is the story with these food banks.....maybe the people on food stamps (EBT cards) are using the food banks and then go to the supermarkets to buy food and selling it to other people, or buying cigarettes or booze

The defense budget is as big a mess as the farm program, lots of spending in there that has nothing to do with the defense of the American people. This spending needs to be itemized and shown for what it really is, not hidden in a program, with a title that appeals to the tax payer!

Remember "PORK" is our Rep. Gov.'s favorite "white meat"! From 1995-2010 Dalrymple Farms has taken $4,549,498 from the pockets of US tax payers in the form of disaster payments and subsidy checks. That actually ranks #2. Now don’t let the bonanza farm persona fool you, farming is just a part time gig for Jack.

We should just allow the "surfer" to be on food stamps and surf. He eats lobster. And loves it.
Yes Missy1, just because some worthless surfer dude is scamming food stamps poor people, Veterans and their families should suffer?
Guess who else likes lobster at taxpayer expense?......Our Governor Jack Dalrymple.

Well will garr, tighten it up. Oh no we can't do that. If we do that, people will have to prove that they voted once. And not 8 to 10 times. I know 2 different issues. Tighten it Up.

So cut the military until it balances. We've got stuff we need to do that isn't getting done. Spending on creating international mayhem is a waste.

No. Tighten up Washington. And how many times they can take a trip on us. Especially Obama and family. Tighten it up. Start there.

Oh that's right. We can only pay out taxes. We have no voice.
Missy1...I know you don't have a habit of looking up things but you should break it.
Google Bush vs Obama vacation time and expense.
Bush took 57 vacation trips totaling 349 days of vacation, while Obama has taken 14 trips totaling 92 days of vacation.... interesting. That's what I thought.
5 Agrees | 2 Disagrees | Report Abuse »
Most of the cost of a trip is travel and security, not lodging. For example, in 2012 Obama and his security staff reserved 75 rooms at the Wesley Hotel in Oaks Bluff, costing $345 a night per room. The total tab was approximately $181,000, while the round trip cost of operating Air Force One to Martha's Vineyard was approximately $424,000 for the round trip. The cost of operating Air Force One to fly to Crawford, TX was approximately $805,000 round trip, or the equivalent of 4.5 times the cost of all the Obama rooms at the Martha's Vineyard resort.
Considering that Bush flew Air Force One 50 times not even five years into his presidency, that would amount to $40,000,000+, not including trips to Maine (a longer distance to Martha's Vineyard) and any other vacations he took.
As for this stupid argument regarding "working vacations", I'm going to let y'all in on a little secret: all presidents are constantly on call 7 days a week, vacations included.
Finally, this idea that Obama is lounging around at the pool is nonsense dreamed up by the partisan hacks who continue to defend a moron who took this country into two unfunded multi-trillion dollar wars.
Did you ever look that up Missy1?

Does anyone know the cost of food stamps/snap programs for ND alone? Subsidies for just the crop insurance for farmers is about $300,000,000 per year or about $3 billion dollars more than what farmers have paid in premiums for crop insurance since 1996. So, is this is a subsidy? Now that does not consider price supports or other federal programs for farmers. I was also wondering about the major corporations that do not pay any income tax. I believe it is over 25% of the largest corporations. Say, This tax cut from 2002 is still going on. I believe that 90% or more of the cut went to the Richest 2% of the people. Now that cost is around 1.5 to 1.8 Trillion in lost revenue since 2002. Hmmm, now where can we cut???? Oh, yes, food stamps.
Oh, I put in the wrong figures for ND for the past 17 years on costs to the government for crop insurance. The farmers of ND paid about 3 billion dollars in Premium. Now, the government paid out over 8 billion in claims and costs. So, just ND farmers were subsidized to the tune of five billion dollars since 1995. But, lets save and cut food stamps???
If only Missy1 would look at the big picture. Like with "voter fraud" at .00005%.........."SNAP fraud" at 1.3%.........is NOT one of our problems. Our "waste" problems start with the baggers.............Over 40 times repealing ACA at a cost of over 70 million........the countless "non-scandals" ...........126 working days for congress at a pay rate of $174,000 per year with free bennies...........So where is the REAL waste????
239 vacation days???????
Platinum health insurance for life???????
Extravagant congressional pensions????
Yet Missy1 can't stand the fact that the Blacks are going on vacation.
Where in the &*)^ are the facts to back all those assertions up with centerfoldknowsnothing? More blam o rama who never has a day without froth coming forth from one orifice or another. You are assuming DustOff smokes, smokes weed. How much lower can you go girl?
