It should be more like the WIC checks where they have to buy fresh veggies and fruit and not only ramen noodle by the case and frozen processed foods, no one can prepare raw meat for a meal anymore????

"Why won't locomotive ever ask him to cite a source?"
Because, willgrr, you are doing a most fabulous job yourself. How many times do I have to point out the excellence you have in this matter?

Well, my post wasn't so good that I did it twice. Just a glitch on my part - sorry.

Uh, willgrr, that's a big reach you're attempting with your "too bad...Kenya" repeat.
Those you've lumped together don't have to share the same opinion. We have enough opinions and separate minds of our own, in spite of your implications otherwise.

I will agree that businesses, big and small, are waiting....to see what Obamacare, the "new tax" as SCOTUS determined, will cost them.

If willful, blind partisanship is the result of smokin' what's in your pipe, centerish, I'll pass, thanks.
Oh, I put in the wrong figures for ND for the past 17 years on costs to the government for crop insurance. The farmers of ND paid about 3 billion dollars in Premium. Now, the government paid out over 8 billion in claims and costs. So, just ND farmers were subsidized to the tune of five billion dollars since 1995. But, lets save and cut food stamps???

Does anyone know the cost of food stamps/snap programs for ND alone? Subsidies for just the crop insurance for farmers is about $300,000,000 per year or about $3 billion dollars more than what farmers have paid in premiums for crop insurance since 1996. So, is this is a subsidy? Now that does not consider price supports or other federal programs for farmers. I was also wondering about the major corporations that do not pay any income tax. I believe it is over 25% of the largest corporations. Say, This tax cut from 2002 is still going on. I believe that 90% or more of the cut went to the Richest 2% of the people. Now that cost is around 1.5 to 1.8 Trillion in lost revenue since 2002. Hmmm, now where can we cut???? Oh, yes, food stamps.

Oh that's right. We can only pay out taxes. We have no voice.

No. Tighten up Washington. And how many times they can take a trip on us. Especially Obama and family. Tighten it up. Start there.
Well will garr, tighten it up. Oh no we can't do that. If we do that, people will have to prove that they voted once. And not 8 to 10 times. I know 2 different issues. Tighten it Up.

We should just allow the "surfer" to be on food stamps and surf. He eats lobster. And loves it.

Remember "PORK" is our Rep. Gov.'s favorite "white meat"! From 1995-2010 Dalrymple Farms has taken $4,549,498 from the pockets of US tax payers in the form of disaster payments and subsidy checks. That actually ranks #2. Now don’t let the bonanza farm persona fool you, farming is just a part time gig for Jack.

why do we have food banks, if a family of three are getting between $300 and $450 a month, what is the story with these food banks.....maybe the people on food stamps (EBT cards) are using the food banks and then go to the supermarkets to buy food and selling it to other people, or buying cigarettes or booze

Apparently any program that smacks of socialism cannot stand alone for funding from our government-always has to be robbing Peter to pay Paul. Social Security another example. Just try and get this program paid from the "General Fund" whatever that is--Snap-really a small expenditure when looking at the whole US budget.

The snap program feeds those in need and prevents dumpster diving. If you are eligible for a free cell phone, you can have food stamps too. If Dick Cheney can have heart surgery to implant a pumping device where a heart should be, paid for by the taxpayer, then those poor obese white folk can have free food.
