Yes, Bill. I have been to the spoil hills near Velva, and also those between Beulah and Hazen. It's all well and good to have a few smaller areas like that, but they were mined well before the large scale operations going today. Do you think that the hundreds of thousands of acres that have been mined more recently should all have been left in spoils? I'm all for wildlife but that's a whole lot of land that would become useless for anything besides wildlife.

centerish has both talking points and typical behaviors down pat: critiques of all but the current administration, disdain for anyone in disagreement, name-calling and slams for all conservatives but never liberals.

Well, loco, you are your usual self. Can't back up your mouth. So, change the subject. Those items are facts, loco, not talking points. Your guys did it and you cannot defend it...Happy Fourth to you

A one word slam suffices as an answer to any question?
For centerish, you betcha.

"Those items are facts, loco, not talking points. Your guys did it and you cannot defend it...Happy Fourth to you..."
centerish, as long as I'm changing the subject, why don't you defend the President's move not to implement ACA policies on businesses until 2015? Does that bother you at all? Why this and why now?
Well, loco, you are your usual self. Can't back up your mouth. So, change the subject. Those items are facts, loco, not talking points. Your guys did it and you cannot defend it...Happy Fourth to you... As to billdoesnoteverevergetit, I think calling you dumb, ignorant, or just plain stupid would be offensive to those people who qualify for these terms. Those first two years were when McConnell and your idiot Republicans used a big portion of the filibuster moves. No bills came through that were passed in the House. But, you did not know that... Yep, you are beyond all the above terms.
willgrr, you're like a two-year-old, repeating and repeating, until all the adults roll their eyes behind your back.
Give it a rest and have a happy 3rd before 4th

Centerfield.. Where was the JOBS BILL in the 2009 and 2010 Congress?
Where was it Centerifled??? Huh? Where was this all important Jobs Bill in 2009 and 2010?
Never once was it brought to the floor.. HOW COME?????
Cry cry cry centerfield.. You OWNED the Congress for the 1st two years and you and your gang didnt do squat..
Now your back blaming THAT on the Republicans too.. Dems just are too stinking dumb to know when they have the bull by the horns.. All they wanted to do was ride on the horns instead of getting anything done.
Foolish till the end.. Dems and libs..
Garr We are on the upswing????
Time for you to focus on someplace besides North Dakota.. Your an idot if you think the country is in recovery.. Whats really happened is people have settled in on welfare and food stamps and have every intention of staying that way as long as the Government is willing to feed them, change their diapers, pay their rent, give them free education, free meals at school..
People have flat lined..just like the jobs market.. There is no "upswing" ubless you got a raise on your welfare check..
Lordy, lordy, loco, you have no memory, and certainly no common sense. The laws of this nation are made by the legislature and you certainly cannot hide from the behavior of your idiot representatives. Almost 400 filibusters by your boys and a house of miss representatives that has done nothing. They won't even bring the jobs bill to the floor for debate and that could equate to hundreds of thousands of jobs. But, loco, you don't care because all you follow is the winger dinger line. Too bad you cannot justify the DO NOTHING congress. Your representatives publicly state that they will do NOTHING on any bills put forth. The beginning of the end for the right wing republican party.

This "newspaper" should change its name. Tea Party Today would be my recommendation.
This from the same people who told us 30 years ago that laws on reclamation of mined land would be too expensive to make coal viable, and we should just let the mines leave everything in spoil hills when they're done.

Obama has been in charge for the last 5 years.."
According to some liberal posters, that's not really so, because they're still blaming former President Bush for any and all ills of the country. Nice to have a convenient scapegoat.
As far as Democrats reining in "their" president--c'mon, guys, he's "our" president--President Obama is his own person and how. Why would he condescend to be reined in by anyone now? He won re-election with a stinky economy - first time that's happened.
This thing on coal - if it is to be phased out as a contributor to our energy needs, I do hope there's a viable alternative that can take up the slack. Coal has been a major energy player for decades. Where does everyone think their electricity currently comes from? Little green power elves?
Although the United States has long generated the bulk of its electricity from coal, over the past 6 years that share has fallen from 50% to 38%. Plans for more than 150 new coal-fired power plants have been canceled since the mid-2000s, existing plants have been closed... In addition, since the mid-2000s, the price of natural gas has plummeted, and Schlissel found that when coal-fired power has to compete with natural gas on its economic merits, it struggled.

Unemployment has now been high for 5 years.. Obama has done nothing to fix it.
Food Stamps are at an all time high... Obama is Food Stamp King..
Welfare baby knows how to milk the Government for everything it can.Obama grew up with the "screw the working class mentality" Taught to him by his hippie mother and missing in action father or fathers or whatever those folks were who came and went in the middle of the night.. Now his Obamacare is in trouble.. Poor stupid lil creature.. doesnt have a clue one how to lead.
Give him his golf clubs and the Air Force One and he has fulfilled all his dreams and all he knows how to do..
Obama is definately out of his pay grade.. He has no clue how to lead..
