More than two hours, willgrr. The five minute waltz is a thing of the past in our growing state.
To be exact, "white privilege" has nothing much to do with NW ND anymore. We are very multi-cultural up here, thanks to an oil boom that has led to others' prosperity and opportunity.
Again, willgrr, join us in the present. You'll be happier.
Here I was, in predominately white (Scandinavian) ND last Nov. I stood in line for a long time with other state residents to exercise my right to vote. I showed my ID when asked. It helped to prove I was already in the computer system as one who was a resident and had voted in ND before. I perceived no inequality for any of us voters in line, no matter our race, as we all shuffled along, visiting as we waited our turn to vote.
Newsflash: many, many people voted for our current president in last year's election for his second term in office. Yes, there was a time in our country's history that his presidency might not have been probable. But many have already proven, just as the SCOTUS found, that that time is gone.
Join the rest of us in the present, willgrr.

"Why would you emulate someone that you obviously despise? Think for yourself you loser."
willgrr, you're doing a bunch of assuming in your post.
#1 I don't despise any poster.
#2 I do think for myself. That's why I thought it appropriate to do as you did. If it's OK for a Democratic liberal, it should be OK for me.
#3 You've c/p'd other posters for many of your entries, trying to make those c/p's detrimental to those who first stated them. Why is that OK for you and not for anyone else?
Look up "emulation," willgrr, and see yourself there.
"1. to attempt to equal or surpass, esp. by imitation"
"2. to rival or compete with"
On we go! Sincerely, Juliet
Just following willgrr's example.
He accomplished the mission first, leftywing.

So be it, willgrr. Everybody's entitled to their opinions. Too bad you're copying someone else's.
It must be appropriate for me to c/p somebody else too, and I think this phrase is just the one for this occasion...
"What difference does it make?"
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

No intention of using my real name here, willgrr. Just the way it is.
Here's a quote from the local story (onlineathens)...
"Court documents reveal tensions have erupted among the lawyers in the case as well. Both sides have repeatedly asked a judge to impose sanctions on opposing counsel and other parties during the discovery process.
"In the motion to dismiss (Atlanta attorney Matthew) Billips, (Bubba Hiers' attorney, Tom) Withers quoted a tweet by Billips in which he said 'suing Paula Deen is a hoot.' Withers also referred to a sexually laced tweet Billips directed at Deen 'even more concerning.'"

Perhaps willgrr just approves of this litigation, even if he's not directly involved in it.
"I took time to read the lawsuit. If the allegations are true, then I say she deserves to be ostracized."
"Personally, the evidence is overwhelming to anyone who knows how to read!"
"Why is she apologizing if she did nothing wrong."
"She knows, just like everyone else knows, you don't get to say the "N" word with no consequence."
"Say what you want and do what you want, but don't get upset and angry when you are checked on it."
I am also sure, people see $$$$$$$, therefore, law suit, law suit. Big easy MONEY. BillGarr, You would jump on that wagon.

Willgarr, how many times have you been silent, when a teacher does this to white young girl's? In North Dakota. Oh yea, that's right. It's a teachers UNION. Other than that, I just listened to a Black American's Opinion and actually it was a Panel of Black American's, Conservatives. It wasn't your opinion, so attack away.
Oh good lord, the help, really? How about the big fat White guy thought it was okay to touch people, young white females, in North Dakota schools? Talk about people turning a blind eye. And reporting it. Yea they sure would not want to start that, then they character slam you. You liberals are doing a great job there. Be Proud. Paula Dean? North Dakota teachers. Blind eye, blind eye. Only when it works in your favor. By the way, the white guys were quietly removed. Something like the White House.

Here's the local take on the lawsuit. Interesting read. Perhaps not quite "the rest of the story" but getting a little nearer.
Missy, great posts.

Ben Carlson has extreme beliefs that fit the mold of the Republican party. If he thinks he will get better treatment from the tea party, the ******* gun fringe, and the old hat racists of the Republican party, he needs more mental health help than anyone else.

Listening to a panel of Conservative Black Americans, such as Dr. Ben Carson, they feel they are treated worse by the Liberals. Due to the fact, they have switched from being a liberal to a conservative.

I know what you mean, kenzgirl62, as this AF man I know from Arkansas said the same thing....American Indians are NOT given as much grief as they are here, but down there, the blacks are. Different regions, different cultures, different views!

I wasn't raised to be a racist and I was raised on shows like Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons where tolerance was taught pretty strongly. My parents were extremely fair minded people and no person was greater than the next to them. Paula Deen is from the South and I am from the North. I think the culture is extremely different. I know up here, Native Americans get a raw deal. I don't think she should be held responsible for mistakes she made when she was young. We all learn and evolve as we get older. She needs a break and at least she was honest.
