No --I am saying that is what it is going to take. Need someone with legal background to write proposition. I would certainly help distribute-

Are you saying you have already started a petition or the petition process?

I would have liked some emphasis placed on the valuation process and the state tax equalization that sets the limits on taxation of property. I don't believe that the legislature will change that---it needs an initiated measure like proposition 13 to accomplish it.Will be the first to carry a petition to get it done.

Veritas, help from a neighbor or friend during a moment of need is not the same as 'help' from the government which is in reality, the opposite of helping and creates dependency which you know was started by the democrats and the republicans have latched onto that because they were belittled into thinking they were not compassionate and caring. and yes, we do have what it takes to rid ourselves of dependency. we can either do it on our own, or be forced into it when the government crashes and burns because of the overspending.

Veritas, who is doing that? Who are you blaming now? My great Grand parents settled here from Norway, My Grandparents are buried here, My Father and Mother are also buried here. History... My dad wrote a folder of papers from the 1930's I look at a lot. So who is full of it. I live on my families farm. By the way, no dishwasher, I do have a washer and dryer. Got to watch out from overloading the appliances. I can afford to move. I don't want to.

I believe that Democrats and conservatives have a lot in common and together we could get rid of the dependency on government. How about it Veratis?

locomotive, the before in the after of the sun beside the up down. That is what I get from some of the posts. Seriously, for those who look only at the letter R or D and NOT at the voting record, or philosophy; really do look through a Cyclops, monocle, or tunnel vision. Funny how they project their shortcomings onto others.

Veritas, if you hate North Dakota and live here, move. If you don't live in North Dakota, go whine some place else. Otherwise run for some office and change the rules to your liking.

Early, you're one witty teddy bear today!

Ice fishing is not a sport that I find agreeable, though I have a bro-in-law that loves going all the time.

BRRR!

Now I can easily forget ice fishing for a whole...what....five more months?

Bring on the garden tomatoes and cucumbers! I'm ready!

For me, it's better to keep it simple.

"OOPS! My bad, I thought we were in control."

willgrr, what do you mean by "we" in this sentence?

Democrats or Republicans, most politicians seem to be Buzz Lightyear when it comes to taxes and/or spending:

"To infinity and beyond!"

I'm thinking about selling everything I own except my homestead and going on vacation for a couple years, see the world and enjoy whats left of my money. Then come home and get in the welfare line for free insurance, free food, free heat for my house and just plain old free time to fish and stuff like that. Anybody want to join me? Save one of those free houses in Minot for me if I overspend on vacation and have to sell my house to make sure I have a most memorable time.

Medicaid expansion is from the democrats, so I see why you defend that and don't understand that money from the feds is also OUR money. I am sure that you supported Obamacare. Remember the idea that everyone would be mandated to pay for their OWN insurance? That fell by the wayside. Medicaid expansion is NOT free money, dufus. You should be lauding Dalrymple and the republicans for pushing through the democrat program.

It is a catch 22...the oil boom which created the surplus, has also inflated housing values...thus negating any savings via property taxes...its a no win situation that's for sure...except for the bureaucrats and their close circle of cronies! ! ! SOCIALISM FOR THE RICH..CAPITALISM FOR THE REST

The Republicans in North Dakota have Baron von Munchhausen disease.

Governments are great at debasing the currency, and as a result, taxes increase because government becomes more expensive because government debased the dollar!

You are the one who has to pay for all of their incompetent governance.

It's a Catch 22 and not a win win situation, it is always a win lose with the taxpayer the loser.

That is the game these days.

The KeepItLocalND(KILND) website was taken down right after the election regarding measure 2. It must have been killed! :-) From the great(sarcasm) Al Carslon, "For those who might think Republican legislators do not care about people, consider this: The North Dakota Human Services budget for the next biennium will exceed $2.7 billion. We increased funding for programs that help better provide for our veterans, seniors, children and the disabled. We extended Medicaid coverage to more than 24,000 additional low-income families. And this Legislature created new programs to make child care more available and affordable. willgarr, when the dems spend like drunking sailors it is called compassion; but republicans do the same and they are called money grabbing. Can't have it both ways, buddy.

We live in a country that taxes half of your income in one form or another, others estimate the tax burden to be in the neighborhood of 67 percent.

Just makes you a slave here, in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Governments are great mass killing. Communists are really good at it. Pogroms are their forte, fun in the sun. National Socialists took lessons from Andrew Jackson and the Indian Removal Act, so governments really do cause misery for people. Ask the Native Americans on the North American continent if they were ever mistreated by the United States gov.

Ask the victims in Pakistan who have suffered drone attacks by the US military if they have been mistreated.

Governments and their military machines cause the most pain and suffering in this world.

Taxes pay for it all. It is no wonder at all that you are not going to receive any tax relief. You're all sheep standing in line to be sheared.

You're sheep led to slaughter. Shake those chains.
