Minot legislators say the city fared well during the recently ended legislative session. How do you think Minot came out?

  1. Great
  2. OK considering other needs
  3. Less than OK
  4. Stiffed again

Well, let's see . . .

The wealthy newspaper and TV media owners are getting richer -- the poor are getting shafted.

So I'm guessing the Minot Daily News wants me to say everything is just great.

I would think part of the problem with today's political scene (state, local, national) is that politicians are elected with the expectation that they will siphon as much money as possible back to their constituents. It makes a poor, if expensive measurement for an official's efficacy, and bodes ill for the (lowercase) republican system as a whole.

We hired Mr. Goettle as a special lobbyist for the city. Maybe we should all call him and ask him?

Everyone did well! The legislature went on a drunken spending spree. The great N.D. surplus that everyone bragged about is gone, give a dollar to a politician and watch (him or her) spend two, it never changes.
