As soon as some important politician is arrested for drinking and driving or driving drunk, then the stronger DUI laws will somehow become not as enforceable as they would be if some commoner is caught driving drunk. A non-important, non-politician drunk driver won't stand a chance against strengthened DUI laws.
Ever see an Irishman walk out of a bar? No, and you never will.
Ever hear a politician tell the truth?
No, and you never will.

Incarceration should be mandatory on the second DUI, but they should receive treatment all day long while incarcerated instead of doing nothing to improve their chances of getting control of themselves. As it is now the treatment programs are required as a separate and second punishment to fines and incarceration. I think the kids should have to go through addiction classes in HS before they are addicted, it might just help a few make better choices.

I don't think it will change much, when people are addicted to alcohol I think there addiction should be treated not make them into criminals. All they make are ticked off drunks who try to run the Peace Officers and end up killing or injuring someone.
I wholeheartedly agree people should not be driving if they are to drunk to be safe but making criminals out of people who already have big problems is just a crazy as driving drunk.
