We're the fattest nation in human history.
One out of three Americans is medically obese -- and two out of three are overweight.
Those stats are worse for children and young people.
PERHAPS it's true -- you're the one anomaly who can shovel triple bacon cheeseburgers and Big Gulps down your throat yet not gain weight. I doubt it, but PERHAPS that's true.
Nonetheless, you're still paying for the pigs -- because America's obesity epidemic is costing the nation 150 BILLION DOLLARS every year in health costs and loss of productivity.
It's fun to blame the mayor of New York, blame President Obama, and blame "the liberal media." However -- blaming politicians isn't making the nation any healthier or richer.
You swear you can handle it . . . well start handling it, right now.

And the thin people of the country do not cost us anything in health care, right? :-) Now, again, back to the topic. There are many who are worried about the possibility of flooding. It is a reality for many, also. But, minotloner is right. The same people are in charge and they botched it last time, why would we think they would do better this time.

animal, it's a feel good policy, as it made somebody feel good when he did it. I've seen the commercials too, and it doesn't take much to imagine what "the mayors" think of us out here in ND. Yeah, the ND with the booming economy. Go away, sir, until NY is booming again. Then we'll talk.
My worries are the same as they were last week, as I plug in to the news updates every day. Time to be boy scouts: always be prepared.

@ animal "YOUR AN IDIOT!!!!"
You misspelled "you're."

Can someone explain to me how we started with the concern of flooding and ended up talking about abortion and gun control? They may or may not be valid points, but they have nothing to do with the topic.

I'm more worried about it not melting at all and, if by the middle of June, a 3-foot high formation of a nascent glacier starts becoming a grim reality.
Doesn't look like a flood, if it melts.
I'd rather misuse a word than be wrong about life in general, people like you that are THE problem!
