"Detectable heartbeat" is the qualifier. Roe v. Wade is still the law of the land. So if the woman moves fast (see anonym's post), abortions can still be performed in ND, as long as it's before the detectable heartbeat. Read the signed legislation if you disagree.

A woman has medical rights too. Her body does not belong to the state. Nobody can limit her rights or infringe upon them in any way whatsoever; not any kind of lawmaker or any kind of elected official can do it. If they do, they are imposing their will and are limiting the rights of a woman. Women should sue the governor for all he has and more and leave the state out of it.
The state is going to be sued on this issue and it is going to lose. The 5 million is gone and more will be needed.
It was a stupid move by Jack. Women's rights trump the laws.
Game, set, match.
Epic fail on Jack's part.

Yeah, that's the ticket, I'm Bill Garr and John Galt too!

You have to understand that I do not condone abortion unless the life of the mother is threatened by the pregnancy, eg. an ectopic pregnancy. A woman will not have a live birth in an ectopic pregnancy, the fetus will burst the organ where it is implanted and the woman will die. It is insane to ban abortion involving an ectopic pregnancy. You will be responsible for the woman's death.
It is not the state's business to legislate laws to ban abortion.
The state could pass legislation to ban suicide, but somehow, I doubt if the law will prevent somebody from killing themselves. Pass laws to ban suicide until they stack a mile high, it won't do any good.
Abortion is a woman's choice. The state cannot prevent suicide, nor can it prevent abortions by passing laws that say you can't have one.
Jack is completely out of line in signing the legislation.
Jack went over the top. Not a governor at all, just another political hack playing the role as a governor.
Bill Garr must be muleskinner and someone else, anyway what a busy body you have been.

Tell me exactly how you know Obama Care will be struck down? Where is your reference? I would like to see it for myself.
Who is Jumpin Jack Flash????

Obama wants to control of guns, Jumpin' Jack Flash wants control of a woman's body.
There is no difference between Obama and Master Jack. They both want control in one way or the other.

Obamacare will allow for abortions and sex rearrangement surgery, so the ND law will be struck down when Obamacare becomes the law of the land.
However, Obamacare is not going to see the light of day, so it is all academic and moot.
North Dakota will lose billions if sued.
Should have left well enough alone, but Jack is much too ignorant to even think.
I believe it is working in my favor. They are working on it. Just like the lies they told that we can keep our doctors and our premiums won't go up. Just like they thought people would hire to beet heck, when companies were forced to buy expensive health Obama care, and now working on putting Abortions in Obama care so they can force us to help pay for something we don't really believe in. Well at least I don't have to support any more employees, and that certainly was the correct call.

Right Bill Garr, just like democrates war on women to try take our guns away. They want us to protect ourselves with a spoon.

muleskinner, I appreciate your candor.
Have an excellent day.
I don't play favorites. I dislike and detest Republicans just as much as I do Democrats. Neither one deserves to be in any government position.
"Jack has damaged his image and the governor's office to the extent that I will never refer to him as the governor ever again."
muleskinner, you'll have to get in line. It's over to the left.
I wonder if people in PA are worrying about their image these days.
Kermit Gosnell, the "house of horrors" abortionist of Philadelphia, is currently on trial for his practices.

(Gay marriage proponents) don't really care about (traditional marriage) - much less (the procreation aspect of marriage) - - they just like to be the bosses of everyone. . . it's important to them that everyone believe the way they do. Kinda sleazy.
Apologies for the edit, billgrr.
I don't know about pumpkins being stolen from the pumpkin patch, not a big deal if you help yourself to one. You can have one.
Out there in North Dakota's Oil Patch, oil is being stolen from North Dakotans by the hundreds of thousands of barrels each day and that's ok with Jack. Not a problem, help yourselves, says Jack.
Jack has damaged his image and the governor's office to the extent that I will never refer to him as the governor ever again. He can clean out his desk, turn in his keys and be gone. The same goes for the idiot who calls himself the lieutenant governor. They are derelict in their duties and are blinded by dogma. They're not state leaders, they're not even men, they're meek mice who roll over for the oil companies. They need to leave office immediately.
They can get in their cars and drive out of North Dakota and never come back.
"You can't legislate morality."
So if somebody stealing my pumpkins has been determined by the legislature to be a crime, and can be prosecuted as such, they have legislated morality. "Thou shalt not steal" or the Hammurabi Code's version of "don't steal your fellow man's stuff" if Bible language offends you.
That phrase sounds so enlightened, but really...
Glad I didn't vote for the knuckle-dragging Neanderthal.
Jack doesn't know Jack.
He has hurt his image more than he has North Dakota's.
The damage is done.
If a woman wants an abortion, it is entirely her business, not the state's. There should be no laws regarding abortion.
You can't legislate morality.
This year's crop of legislators is a group to loathe.

I'm pro-choice. I choose not to get an abortion. But that's the "wrong" choice, to certain people.

So let me get this straight, you were all for the "choice" being taken out of the equation when it came to smoking in bars, you are all about choice being removed when it comes to gun control. But for some reason, now you WANT choice when it comes to this? As was stated before, what is good for the goose...

Head over to kxnet**** and check out the opinions over there about the bill.
This is going to kill grown women but the GOP doesn't care about that. They care more about a non-viable fetus. Keys, wait till this gets to the SCOTUS and watch how the new will be all over it. The whole world will be watching us get female dog slapped right back to this abomination of a state.
Now that this law has passed, the next one that is needed that every male who applies for a prescription for ED medication needs to be seen every week for a year by a psychiatrist before their primary care doctor can issue the prescription. What's good the goose is good for the gander.
