After reading the article about the Chinese hacking our computers I don't think it's a very good idea to put unmanned aircraft in populated areas.

Give 'em a inch and they'll take a yard ... better to deny the inch at the get go. I recall not to long ago when a high court ruled that police couldn't put a GPC tracker on a suspects car, just so they could follow him around ... with no probable cause. This drone thing almost sounds like that, minus the suspect.

I agree with that. It is the luck of the draw with attorneys, how much you can pay, and what information the criminal is willing to give up for a lighter sentence. Amos, I don't want them patroling for whatever reason either. The authorities have the power and it needs to be restrained. I don't like the dog catcher shining his spot light in every window as he goes down the street. If it happens again, we will report him.

And as muleskinner points out its all up to the lawyers and the judges. They decide who what and where is illegal and who what a where gets a fine or jail time.
Our legal system is about the most illegal system we have here in the USA.
One guy gets 6 months for beating his kid to death and another gets life for beating a guy big enough to defend himself to death.
We need less lawyers, less laws and less Government.
Our judicial system needs to be set up like the barber shop
Hair cut $10 Shave $8 ect
Kill some one Life Dwi Automatic 4 years in jail ect. all across the board. Then the cops could pick them up and haul them off and we could do away with lawyers and judges for the most part.

A warrant is a good idea, however I believe they shouldn't need one to keep an eye on parolees or to search for meth labs, pot farms, suspects on the run, etc.

EarlyBird, if I were a golden goose egg, you'd still crack me up!
I appreciate a sense of humor on here, just like H4C and others.
A little levity levitates the whole bunch...

"Requiring search warrants for such is protecting the citizens and their property from unlawful search and seizure."
Common sense, disgusted. A+

animal, I agree with your post of Feb-25-13 11:26 AM. If you own it or have to pay for it, you protect it with your life. Drones used by our local officers are going to be used. Requiring search warrants for such is protecting the citizens and their property from unlawful search and seizure.

There is a lot of new and old tech. that isn,t good for us!! As for finding lost people, we have an Air Guard, Air force and local pilots who volunteer no need for Uncles spy planes. Everytime we give up another freedom without a fight we get closer to being totally lost as America!!!

animal, drones are new technology. They are in use. I do think there is a good use for them, finding those who are lost, or those who hide from authorities in the rural communities. The recent bill protects the public from over-zealous searches by the authorities. Hope4 always provides a little levity in these tense situations with his humor. It is appreciated.

Why is it that farmers who milk cows and then sell raw milk are arrested, but then John Corzine, who is responsible for the 100 percent losses in MF Global, is not prosecuted?
First they came for the raw milk sellers, but I wasn't a raw milk seller, so I didn't speak up.
Then I wasn't a billionaire fascist who wants to ban 2 liter sized soft drink bottles, I was just a poor schmuck who feared his government, didn't dare speak up, then they came for me, and then I was silenced.
This is fascism folks. When you can't have a tobacco product in a bar of your choice because all of the brown shirt do-gooders want it their way, you know you've got fascism.
When dairy producers can't sell their raw milk to customers willing to buy, and are arrested, it is fascism.
All of the banksters don't mind at all. They just take, by hook or by crook, or by drones. Obama's ok by it.
You get to keep sacrificing for them, the billionaires.
Move along. Nothing to see here.

leftwing, you and I may want property tax relief or no property tax; but the great citizens of this state voted that down, and quite mightily, I might add. Drones are already being used. The bill protected the public with the amendment that includes requiring a search warrant.

They also want to vote on giving the oil companies 82 million additional tax breaks starting in 2017. If passed ,We should let them know that they are fired and to pack their bags.Property tax relief is what we want and no more lip service.

If you are not doing anything wrong, then you should not be worried about being watched. Will the government now need a warrant to listen into conversations, e-mails, letters as well? What will happen to the US security? Are they not helpful in guarding the border? What about the missile sites and power lines and dams and, and, and.
