HE probably needs to go, but he is not the source of the problem. The entire system for higher ed needs to be changed. Buying him out for $660,000 after just seven months is just plain short sighted. Not having the board accountable to anyone is just asking for trouble.
Yes, he must go, just another example of the good old boy network, where else can you get paid big money for NOT doing your job. Once your in your rich its you cover my but and I'll cover yours, and joe the plumber pays the bill!!!

On another subject--Dictator Obama has signed 23 new Ex. orders against the American people, in direct attacks on the 2nd. 5th. and other ammendments to our constitution. The things he is doing, we would not allow to happen in another country, yet we allow this insane power addict to continue assaulting our freedom on a daily basis! Come on people WAKE UP!!!
We need moth-sized drones flying in and around the state capitol and spy on the drunks down there who try to play the role of a legislator.
Hamid Shirvani can play the role as Chancellor of the NDUS.
They all can quit early and adjourn the day's business calendar, head for the bars and stay drunk all weekend.
I'd feel better if they would stay drunk during the entire legislative session. They're drunk with money and power, might as well have copious amounts of alcohol to drink.
"Let's fire Hamid, he doesn't get drunk enough," said the obviously drunk legislators who demand his firing.
You would think an agricultural state would want to make sure milk is available for Minnesotans too.
A pox on the ND lawmakers and the State Board of Edumacation.
Hamid now has a case to sue. The legislators are not acting in good faith and are 'with bias'.
oh muleskinner, please don't toss the baby with the wash. There are a few good souls in our current session. I would like to plead with you to reconsider.
The problem goes much deeper than Shirvani as higher education is no longer about acedemic excellence; but instead is 'a cash cow' to be milked for everything its worth.
Athletics, alumni and the almighty dollar. The system wants us to bequeath our life savings to them even when we go.
hope4change, do you every feel your hope is hopeless? I agree that moeny and sports win run the higher ed program. Are you listening to the House or Senate votes? Muleskinner, I hope you are so you can feel a bit better about some of our elected men and women.

I will change the gist of the message from cynically provocative to absurdly sarcastic.
I think the cop killer who is an ex-cop provides ample proof that people kill people, not guns.

The problem with Chancellor Shirvani is that his name isn't Miller, Jones or Schulz.

I suppose the same was said about Goetz, right? His name wasn't Miller, Jones, or Schultz?
