Barbara K. Hanson, 53, Minot, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, in her home.

Barby was born Oct. 17, 1960, in Hollywood, Calif., to Richard and Charlotte (Anderson) Green. She was raised and educated in La Canada, Calif., graduating from La Canada High School in 1978. She attended college in San Diego prior to gaining employment in Pasadena, Calif.

She was united in marriage to Roger C. Hanson on July 25, 1993, in California. This union was blessed with two children. They made their home in Victorville, Calif., until moving to Minot in 1999.

She became employed with the Salvation Army in 2000 and most recently was employed as an office assistant for the Ward County Tax Equalization Office.

She enjoyed traveling, outdoor sports and riding motorcycles. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

Barby's surviving family includes: husband, Roger; children, Solveig Hanson, Minot, and Logan Hanson, Dallas-Fort Worth; sisters, Ginny Green, Alexandria, Minn., Cindy Scott, Pasadena, Lisa Green, Silverdale, Wash., and Kathy (Scott) Weires, Concord, Calif.; sister-in-law, Niki Green, Valencia, Calif.; stepmother, Wendy Green, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; stepbrother, Tony (Shelby) Barron, Long Beach, Calif.; nieces, Kiana Green, Amelia Barron, Anna, Gracie and Lilly Weires; nephews, Dave Rice-Scott, Max Barron and Trevor Green; along with extended family.

Barby was preceded in death by: her parents and brother, Rick Green.

Funeral Service: Monday, Aug. 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church, Minot.

There will be no reviewal, however, family and friends are invited to sign the memorial register on Sunday, Aug. 24, from noon to 5 p.m., at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
