Three people were injured in a car accident two miles west of Minot on Friday afternoon.
According to a North Dakota Highway Patrol press release, Justin Nehring, 37, of Minot was driving north on Ward County Road 17 at 4:58 p.m. Friday. He attempted to cross U.S. Highway 2 and failed to yield to a car westbound on U.S. Highway 2 driven by Janice Harvey, 54, of Minot. Harvey's vehicle spun counterclockwise into the outside lane, striking a third car driven by Lorraine Nelson, 67, of Minot on the driver's side front quarter panel. Nelson was turning right on U.S. Highway 2 westbound when Harvey's vehicle deflected into her.
Nehring's vehicle came to rest in the intersection facing northwest. Harvey's vehicle came to rest on the shoulder facing south. Nelson's vehicle came to rest northwest of the intersection in the bottom of the ditch facing west.
Janice Harvey and her passenger, Robert Harvey, 54, of Minot, and Nelson were all taken to Trinity Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Nehring was not injured. All four were wearing their seatbelts.
The Highway Patrol is investigating.
