The Landing, of Minot, and Pheasants for the Future sponsor the Wade Sundsbak Rooster Run. Registration begins at The Landing at 11 a.m. and the ride starts from the same location at noon. Destinations have not been determined. Proceeds of the $10 entry fee will be donated to cancer research on behalf of Wade Sundsbak, of Burlington, who died in May.

The festival and food concessions will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is a free will offering.
The International Peace Garden hosts a quilting show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Among the vendors and items featured are: the 183 Trading Company's button collection for sale, swap and display includes button jewelry and more; Melinda Snell's quilts featuring flowers, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, coffee, wine and grapes. Designs are from watercolor paintings of Sonja Taylor; Pat Miller's quilts and vintage antique sewing machines.
The annual Festival on Main will be held this year on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Downtown Minot. The event is sponsored by the Downtown Business and Professional Association of Minot and Visit Minot and is free to the public. Daytime activities include the Northern Outlaw Wrestling wrestlers, sponsored in part by Coors Light, carnival and inflatable games, Dakota Cruisers car show, bingo, food and craft vendors, and Dizzy the Clown. There will be two historic Minot slide shows at the Taube Museum of Art along with children's activities, Minot Air Force Base K-9 dog demonstration, FunTyme Karaoke, dance and band performances, in-store events and sidewalk sales, and more. The Downtown Shuttle service will be available during the day. Booth spaces for vendors are still available and an application can be downloaded at (downtownminot.com). The evening fun follows with a street dance starting at 7 p.m. with local bands Guy & a Girl, followed by Soul Shine from 8:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. You must be 21 and older to attend, and the cost is $10. The IllumNight 5K Run starts in Downtown Minot that same evening at 9:14 p.m.
