A Spaghetti Benefit Dinner for Mel and Joan Diers will be held Sunday, Aug. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Bread of Life Lutheran Church, 1415-17th Ave. SW, Minot. Proceeds of the free will offering will be used for medical expenses related to Mel's cancer/heart treatment and their son, Dale, is continuing rehabilitation for a recent brain aneurysm.
The Minot Salvation Army is accepting applications for Back to School Supplies through Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Complete an application at The Salvation Army Church, 315 Western Ave., Minot. Bring identification of each child and proof of residence, along with report card, with you at the time of application. The Landing, of Minot, and Pheasants for the Future will sponsor the Wade Sundsbak Rooster Run on Saturday. Registration begins at The Landing at 11 a.m. and the ride starts from the same location at noon. Destinations have not been determined. Proceeds of the $10 entry fee will be donated to cancer research on behalf of Wade Sundsbak, of Burlington, who died in May.
