Street construction projects under way in Minot this week include:
Sixth Street Southwest near City Hall and the Public Library
Sixth Street Southwest remains closed from Central Avenue to Burdick Expressway. The area is also closed to pedestrian traffic. Access to the Minot Public Library, Minot Police Department and City Hall is available via Second Avenue Southwest. Soltis Business Forms can be accessed via Western Avenue to Third Avenue Southwest.
As part of the utility project for the Sixth Street project and the Third Avenue /Fifth Street project, Burdick Expressway Southwest will be head-to-head traffic in the area of the Minot Municipal Auditorium. Head-to-head traffic has shifted to the north lanes. Access will be maintained off Burdick to businesses directly affected by the closure. The intersection of Burdick and Sixth Street will remain in flash mode with Burdick having the priority (yellow flash). Side streets off Burdick Expressway around the project will open and close at various points during the project so allow for extra time and watch for traffic control signs.
55th Street Southeast will be closed between 11th Avenue and 16th Avenue Southeast for the force main gravity sewer project. The project will go through August.
16th Avenue Southeast
16th Avenue Southeast will be closed between 46th Street and 55th Street Southeast through September as part of the ongoing construction in the area. Motorists should watch for traffic control signs.
42nd Street Northeast
42nd Street between County Road 12 and 19th Avenue Northeast may be closed, but access for local traffic will be maintained
Courtland Drive Area
A water main replacement is resulting in closures in the area of Courtland Drive and Eighth Street from Fourth Avenue North to River Drive Northwest.
Work continues on the downtown parking structures, and motorists are advised to use extreme caution and be on the lookout for pedestrians. People should plan for extra travel time throughout the downtown area. Detour and parking/no parking signs are in place.
