Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Abrahamson

Ronald Melvin "Ronnie" Abrahamson, of Lemmon, S.D., and Hettinger, passed away on July 23, 2014, at the age of 70.

Ronald was born on Feb. 20, 1944, in Minot, the son of Melvin and Phyllis Abrahamson. He was raised on the farm near Surrey and attended and graduated from Surrey High School.

Ron worked for several farmers in the area, then moved to California where he worked for Kaiser Steel. He moved back to North Dakota in 1995 and worked for Aggregate Construction operating a dozer for 17 years. You would often find Ron high atop the dozer, along with his little four-legged partner, Princess. He met his loving wife, Cindy Sittner, and they were married on July 12, 2003.

Ron and Cindy resided in Lemmon, S.D., and Hettinger. Due to his failing health, Ron retired in 2012.

He is survived by: his wife, Cindy, of Lemmon; his mother, Phyllis Abrahamson, Minot; brother, Randy Abrahamson and wife Anne of Minot; sisters, Roxanne Corum, of Minot, and Linda Severson and husband Donald of Spring, Texas; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Corcoran and husband Raymond of Billings, Mont., Lola Munro and husband Phil of Reeder, Emma Melling and husband Donnie of Hettinger; brothers-in-law, Alvin Sittner of Oceanside, Calif., David and wife Carolyn of Helena, Mont., John Sittner and wife Nancy and Donald Sittner and wife Jeanette, all of Billings; his faithful companion, Precious; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Melvin; two nieces, Robin Rasmuson and Tammy (Vollmer) Weidner; one nephew, Eric Severson; brother-in-law, Oscar Corum; and his father- and mother-in-law, Emil and Christine Sittner.

Funeral services will be held: Today, Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon. Pastor Bob Edwards will officiate.

Burial will follow: at the Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon.

Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon is in charge of arrangements.
