Delores M. Dutenhafer, 79, Minot, died Friday, July 25, 2014, in a Minot hospital.
Delores M. Hager was born on August 15, 1934, a daughter of Joseph and Johanna (Scheet) Hager in Selz. She was raised and educated in Balta.
On February 16, 1953, Delores was united in marriage to Jack Dutenhafer in Rugby. They made their home in Minot, where Delores worked as a cook at various locations, including the Eagles Club, Knights of Columbus, and Grand International Inn. Jack passed away on November 24, 1980. Following his death, she lived with her son Terry, and continued to work at Grand International, where she retired from in 1991. In 2012, she moved to Edgewood Vista, where Delores enjoyed the activities and met many special friends.
Delores enjoyed reading, dancing, baking and cooking German food for family events. Her grandchildren and coworkers, whom she treated as her own children, affectionately called her "Grandma D." Her great-grandchildren referred to her as GG. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, and will be missed by all that had the privilege to know her.
Delores was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Eagles Ladies Aux, Knights of Columbus Ladies Aux, Minot.
Delores is survived by: children: Jason Dutenhafer, Jamestown, Wayne (Linda) Dutenhafer, Minot, Peggy (Tony) Prough, Minot, Terry (Stephanie) Dutenhafer, Minot, Bruce Dutenhafer, Minot; 13 grandchildren, Shiloh (Scott) Walsh, Shayna (Chris) Nogosek, Shantel Dutenhafer, Seth Dutenhafer, Chad (Heather) Dutenhafer, Craig (Miranda) Dutenhafer, Shane (Mary) Prough, Heather (Trent) Thomas, Caitlin Jensen, Jaime Jensen, Stephanie Dutenhafer, Sadie Dutenhafer, Jack Dutenhafer, Buddy McDaniel, and Amber McDaniel; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Miller, Penny Bertsch, Julie Berglund, Rose Weigel, Tina Brigman; brother, John Hager. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mary Jo, brother William Hager and sisters Mary Carlson and Katherine Ripplinger.
Visitation: Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Vigil Prayer Service: Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
