Tracey Kae Arne, 47, died Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Trinity Hospital, in Minot, from complications of surgery.

Tracey was born Oct. 1, 1966, at Grand Forks Air Force Base. She was the beloved daughter of Allen and Leslie Arne, of Minot. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith in Lisbon in December 1966 and confirmed in Worms, Germany, in May 1980. Her godparents are Frank (deceased) and Bonnie Dunn.

Tracey was once married to Marshall Newgard. Born from this union were her four precious sons, Cody (Darcie), Casey, Jonah, and Jacob Newgard all Minot. They meant the world to her.

She had retired from J.C. Penney's after 20 years of service and was currently working at MLT Vacations (Delta Vacations) as a member of their travel agent support team. She had started working with the MLT family in 2012 and will be sadly missed.

She volunteered extensively with the Boy Scouts earning their highest award, the Wood Badge. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, and volunteered with their confirmation classes.

Tracey believed in angels and surrounded herself with them. She was passionate about her gardening. She would spend most of her days working and admiring her work alongside her granddaughters who loved to water the plants and dig in the dirt with Grandma Tracey. When she was not working on her own yard, she was enjoying nature while camping with Kevin and her boys. Traveling was in the blood for Tracey as she was an Air Force brat growing up. She traveled all over Europe with her family as a teenager while stationed in Germany. As an adult she continued to travel all over the United States and enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean and Mexico. On her down time you could catch her reading a book, watching movies, or simply spending time with family.

Besides her sons and parents she leaves behind the love of her life and soulmate, Kevin Smith, Minot; her two granddaughters, Amelia Newgard and Paislee Johnson-Wenger, Minot; and a grandson, Ryland Newgard, due in October; one brother, Tim (Tammy) Arne, Burlington; two sisters, Terra (Allan) Knipp, Surrey and Holly (Kerry) Ebel, Minot; nephews, Michael (Mindy) Arne, Redlands, Calif., Nick Dalle, Minot, Alexander (Erin) Knipp, Andrew (Godson) Knipp, Zachary Knipp, Nicholas Knipp, all Minot, Joseph (Godson) Knipp and Noah Knipp, Surrey, Timothy Copeland, Minot, Dylan Ebel, of Harvey, Christopher Ebel and Dodge Arne, both Minot; nieces, Kelly "Dani" Arne, Misty Arne, Redlands, Hannah Arne, Jesse Dalle, Minot, Taylor Ebel, of Harvey; great-nieces and great-nephews, Deacon and Ethan Arne, Gabriel and Oliver Knipp, Jamez Ebel, Zhane Walleen and Hayden Dalle; and several aunts, uncles and cousins; Kevin's two children, Davin, Minot, and Annaka Smith, Fargo; and his parents, Rod and Maryann Smith, Minot.

Tracey was preceded in death by: her paternal grandparents, Clarence and Alma Arne, maternal grandparents, Bud and Eva Ballinger, and godson/nephew Isaac Knipp.

Funeral Service will be: Saturday, July 19, at 2 p.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.

Our family would like to thank you for your presence here today and invites you to join us for lunch in the fellowship hall following the service.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.

Booksigning: Friday, July 18, from 2 to 7 p.m., in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
