Beavers add two
Minot State softball announced the signing of Alendrina Pichardo and Sarah Taylor Monday.
Pichardo, from Buena Park, Calif., spent a season at both Mt. San Antonio College and Cypress College.
She batted .478 with 15 home runs and a .978 slugging percentage in 2013 and swatted nine more home runs and boasted a .437 batting average for Cypress in 2014.
"She has great power and can play both corners," MSU coach Bill Triplett said in a press release. "She put up huge numbers her freshman year at Mt. SAC and followed that up with another great year at Cypress College."
Taylor, a multi-sport standout at Stanley, was named Class B all-state and Class B West Region player of the year in 2014.
"We are very happy that Sarah chose MSU and our softball program," Triplett said. "We felt like she was the top catcher of all those on our radar and she is also a good hitter."
The Beavers, coming off a 29-20 season, have signed five players so far for their 2015 class, including four incoming freshmen and one junior college transfer.
