Trinity Health will host its 17th annual Building Hope Women's Golf Tournament Monday at Souris Valley Golf Course. The tournament gets under way at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start. A dinner will be held for participants at the conclusion of the golf event.
Jointly sponsored by Trinity Health Foundation and Midcontinent Communications, the annual golf tournament serves as a key source of funding for programs and services benefitting patients at the Trinity CancerCare Center. It also provides awareness and fellowship for people who have been touched by cancer.
Trinity Foundation director Jodi Smith said last year some $15,000 was raised through tournament fees and sponsorships to provide travel and lodging assistance for patients, cancer exercise sessions and lodging at Trinity's CancerCare Cottage.
"The Building Hope Brunch and Golf Tournament owes its success to community members and other dedicated sponsors who generously support this charitable event each year in an effort to help cancer patients throughout the region. Every dollar makes a difference," said Smith.
According to Smith, some 600 patients are newly diagnosed and treated at the CancerCare Center each year.
