James E. Jones, 87, Minot, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at a Minot hospital.
James Edward Jones was born Oct. 13, 1926, in Dickinson, the son of L. Keith and Clara (Thompson) Jones. Jim was raised and educated in Carpio. He married Elizabeth June Zeretzke on Oct. 28, 1954, in Mohall. The couple made their home in Minot, where they raised their three children. Jim worked in construction as a crane operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 49. Jim's work took him to many locations around North Dakota, where he made many friends. He loved to reminisce about the people he met and tell stories of his days working construction.
Survivors: wife of 59 years, Beth, Minot; children, Marsha (Ed) Boehm, Mandan, Mark (Gina) Jones, Winnemucca, Nev., Lisa (Jamison) Burckhard, Minot; grandchildren, Chad (Kaysi) Boehm, Brian Boehm, Rylee Burckhard and Quinn Burckhard; brothers, Keith (Joyce) Jones Jr. and Kenneth (Cheryl) Jones, all Minot; sisters, Carol Rostad, Minot, and Doris (Marvin) O'Clair, Prescott Valley, Ariz.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Ruth Feil; brothers, William Jones, Allen Jones; and brother-in-laws, Herb Feil and Irven Rostad.
Memorial Service: Wednesday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
