Roy F. Miller, 67, rural Minot, died Monday, June 2, 2014, in his home.
Roy F. Miller was born May 11, 1947, a son of Frank and Philomena (Schmaltz) Miller, in Drake. He was raised and educated in the Drake area, attending school in Orrin and Drake.
Roy was united in marriage to Janet Kulzer on April 23, 1966, in Minot. They made their home near Minot, where Roy worked as a mechanic in Minot during the late 1960s. He also worked as a carpenter at various power plants in west central North Dakota and around the Minot area.
Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with family and friends. He was a current member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Orrin.
Roy is survived by: Wife of 48 years, Janet Miller, Minot; son, Troy F. Miller, Kingsland, Ga.; daughter, Deanette (Steve) Foster, of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Jessica Foster and Cole Foster; sisters, Mabel (Myron) Cunning, Greeley, Colo., Irene Wolfe, Esmond, Bernice Volk, Watford City, and Anna Volk, Rugby; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roy was preceded in death by: an infant daughter Claudette; parents, Frank and Philomena; stepfather, Friedrich W. Nissen; sister, Margerita Miller; and brothers, Christian and Johnnie.
Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Today, Thursday, June 5, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Vigil prayer service: Today, Thursday, June 5, at 7 p.m. in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
