Esther Miller, 88, of Fargo, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014, at Elim Care Center in Fargo.
Esther Ina Miller was born March 25, 1926, the daughter of Carl and Lillian (Blackburn) Petterson in Estevan, Sask., Canada. She was raised on the family farm near Estevan and received her education there.
Esther married Lennie Miller on Aug. 24, 1950, in Regina, Sask., Canada. She farmed with Lennie in Long Creek Township near Noonan. They farmed many years together until moving to Crosby and in later years to Fargo. They shared 63 years of marriage.
Esther was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby. She enjoyed gardening, antiques, quilting, sewing, making lefse, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Esther also took pride in growing beautiful flower gardens while in Crosby.
Esther was preceded in death by: her husband, Lennie; her parents; and siblings, Irene Moore, Marion Weston, Raymen Peterson and Carl Peterson Jr.
She is survived by: daughters, Marilyn (John) Jacobson, of Crosby, Colette (Bill) Bauer, of Fargo, Karla (Mickey) Dosch, of Sheridan, Wyo.; one son, Blaine (Candyce) Miller, of Crosby; eight grandchildren, Jason Miller, Tara Miller, Jarret Miller, Jonathan Jacobson, Andrea Larson, Karen Qualey, Brian Bauer and Jenna Lawler; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nefia Holmgren.
Funeral services will be: Friday, June 6, at 10 a.m., at Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby, with Pastor Ethyl Mae Nelson officiating.
Burial will follow at Long Creek Cemetery, rural Crosby.
