Lyle O. Willer, 88, Mandan, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.
Lyle was born Dec. 13, 1925, at Fordville to William and Clara (Beito) Willer. He was raised and educated in Fordville and graduated from Park River High School in 1944. Following high school he joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1944-1946, when he was honorably discharged. He married Beverly Skibicki on May 6, 1948, in Conway, N.D. For many years he was the manager of Grafton Auto Electric Parts store in Grafton. After his retirement, he and Beverly enjoyed spending winters in Mesa, Ariz., and summers at Van Hook near Lake Sakakawea. He was a man of all trades. If it was broke, he'd figure a way to fix it.
He is survived by: his wife of 66 years, Beverly, Mandan; daughter, Diane (Dennis) Barton, Gainesville, Ga.; son, Lon (Geri Ann), Sidney, Mont.; sister, Irene Otterson, and brother, Bud, both of California; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Lyle was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Eleanor, Gwen, Clarice; and brother, Armand.
Graveside services will be held: Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, south of Mandan.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
