Minot Daily News

Tanya (Mathson) Ginther, 31, of Beulah, died after a six and a half year battle with heart failure, Sunday, May 4, 2014, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 2 p.m. CDT today, May 8, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with Pastor Mary Lou Aune officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah City Cemetery, Beulah.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church.

Tanya was born Aug. 13, 1982, to Brian and Judy (Adams) Mathson, in Minot. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating in 2000. She attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton and graduated in 2002 with an associate degree.

On Sept. 27, 2003, she married Mike Ginther at Saron Lutheran Church, South Prairie. Together, they made their home in Hannover, where they lived for nine years until they moved to Beulah, where they have since lived.

In her younger years, Tanya loved riding horses, barrel racing and just being outdoors. She began deer hunting when she was 14 and had found enjoyment in it over the years. On top of being a devoted, selfless mother, she blessed, beyond measure, numerous moms and their families through MOPS.

Tanya ensured that her children had every opportunity to be involved in any community activity, including the Hazen Figure Skating Club, of which she was a board member. The way Tanya lived her life allowed others to experience the Father's love, the power of hope and a life of faith, Phil. 4:4.

Tanya's trouble with her heart began on Dec. 21, 2007, which included many large and small miracles, giving her six and a half more years with her friends and family. In that time, Tanya was able to touch so many lives whether people knew her or not. Her journey ended peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

She is survived by: her husband, Mike, of Beulah; two children, Blaine, 6, and Clara, 8, of Beulah; her parents, Brian and Judy Mathson, of Minot; one sister, Teresa (Albert) Hotten, of West Fargo; her mother and father-in-law, Rick and Mary Ann Ginther, of Devils Lake; two brothers-in-law, Buzz Ginther, of Mandan, and Dale (Lisa) Ginther, of Devils Lake; her grandmother, Dorothy Mathson, of Minot; her grandmother-in-law, Anna (Philip) Schiele, of Devils Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
