Bruce Landsverk, age 77, of Bottineau, formerly of Dunseith, died Thursday, May 1, in a Minot nursing home. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Dunseith. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 6, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., in Nero Funeral Home, Bottineau. Burial will be at the Rendahl Cemetery, rural Dunseith.
Bruce Stanley Landsverk, a son of Nels and Gertie (Rispa) Landsverk, was born on Aug. 28, 1936, at Bottineau. He was reared on the family farm in the Turtle Mountains and attended Beaver Dam and Willow Lake country schools. He entered the U.S. Army in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1959. He returned to the area and did cement finishing in Minot and Langdon. Later he took over the family farm. He retired from farming in 1999 and in 2013 he moved into Oak Manor in Bottineau.
Bruce enjoyed playing horseshoe, cards, hunting, fishing, gardening and visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by: his brothers, Elwood (Linda), of Minot, Virgil (Verginia LeAnne), of Minot, David, of Bottineau, and Leland (Janell), of Bottineau; sisters, Sharon Beckman, of Bottineau, and Barb (Larry) Lawrence, of Bottineau; sisters-in-law, Connie Landsverk, of Bottineau, and Aggie Landsverk, of Salinas, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn; brothers, Arlan, Darrel, Roger and Kenneth; niece, Elizabeth Landsverk and nephew, Little Virgil Gayle.
