Minot Fire Department firefighters look and spray water through windows on the ground floor of a home at 605 S. Main Street in Minot while Minot Police Department officers and neighbors watch. Captain Jason Babinchak said that the fire department was called at 9:02 p.m. and had the fire, which had no visible flames from the outside but enough smoke to leave a haze throughout the neighborhood, controlled in about 20 minutes. The department deployed 14 firefighters and other personnel to the home, which was accessible through an alley on First Street Southeast, with three fire trucks, a rescue truck and a battalion chief’s vehicle. The fire’s origin and cause has not yet been determined and the incident remains under investigation.
