Marian Tande, 96, most recently of Tioga, formerly of McGregor, died peacefully Easter Sunday morning, April 20, 2014, at the Tioga Long Term Care Center, where she was a resident. Funeral services will be held today, April 23, 2014, at 2 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor. Pastoral Assistant James Hamann will officiate and interment will be held at the Battleview Cemetery.
Orrie Marian Tande was born May 2, 1917, to August and Minnie (Hanson) Moberg, on the family farm west of Battleview. She was baptized and confirmed at Battleview Lutheran Church.
On Feb. 21, 1941, Marian was united in marriage to Reuben Tande. They made their home on their farm south of McGregor, where they lived until they retired from farming in the spring of 1983. The couple then moved into their home in Tioga. Reuben passed away in 1984 and Marian continued to live at their home in Tioga until 2006, when she moved into an apartment in Minot.
She was a member of McGregor Lutheran Church.
Marian is survived by: her daughter, Marlene Peterson, of Tioga; son, Lyle Tande, of Minot; granddaughters, Donna (Wayne) Hager, of Rugby, Rynette (Dwight) Lindbo, of Tioga, Lynn (Cletus) Fisher, of Tioga, and Elaina Tande, of Bismarck; great-granddaughters, Lynsey (Trevor) Van Nevial, of Atlanta, Ga., and Nicole (Mario) Lemieux, of Jamestown; stepgreat-grandchildren, Jenny, David, Nellie, Alex and Tony; sister, Arlene Overlee, of Minot; sisters-in-law, Rosella Tande, of Minot, and Mrs. Alvin Tande, of Madison, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reuben; brothers, John and Arthur Moberg.
Friends may call at the Fulkerson Funeral Home of Tioga today from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and today at the church an hour prior to services.
