Bernice Norine (Nesvik) Wolla, 92, passed away April 20, 2014, in the Tioga Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Her funeral service will be Friday, April 25, 2014, at 11 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Tioga. Burial will be in United Cemetery in Tioga. Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Springan Funeral Home in Stanley, followed by a family service at 7 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Tioga. Visitation Friday, April 25, will be from 10 a.m. to service time, in the church.

Bernice was born July 3, 1921, south of White Earth, on the family farm. She was the youngest daughter of Johannes J. and Anna (Baslie) Nesvik. Bernice was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in White Earth and attended Momb grade school which was walking distance from the family farm.

Bernice and Kermit Wolla married on Oct. 17, 1944, in Sidney, Mont. They lived on the Wolla farm south of Tioga for 52 years farming and raising cattle. Six children were born into the family. One of her joys in life was her flower gardens and she worked very hard making her yard look nice. She was extremely good at crocheting, playing cards and playing the piano when the children were young. She excelled at canning, cooking, baking and worked hard with her large gardens, milking cows and her chickens.

When her kids walked home from Wolla School, they could smell caramel rolls 1/2 mile away.

Kermit passed away on June 3, 1996, and she moved from the farm to Tioga in 2000 and into the Tioga Nursing Home in 2011.

Bernice never complained, even when she was asked at the nursing home how she was doing. She said, "I have nothing to complain about." She was close to her brothers and sisters, family was very important to her, and was proud of all her children and grandchildren. "God Bless Our Memories of a great Mother, and Grandmother."

Preceding her in death: her parents; her husband, Kermit; daughter, Barbara Kay Ganzer; brothers, Johannes, Maynard, Joe; sisters, Myrtle Overbo and Agnes Hanson and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; a niece and a nephew.
