Merna M. Schultz, 92, Minot, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in a Minot hospital.
Merna M. Schaffer was born on Aug. 4, 1921, in Des Lacs, a daughter of Fred and Beulah (Herring) Schaffer. She was raised and educated in Des Lacs and later graduated from Des Lacs High School.
Merna was united in marriage to Fred Schultz in 1940, in Glasgow, Mont. The couple made their home in Minot, where Merna sold jewelry and raised her three sons.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Railroad Museum, all of Minot. Merna enjoyed working with leather, bowling and riding motorcycle with her husband, Fred.
Survivors: sons, Paul (Noell) Schultz, Madison, Wis., Burl (Sheila) Schultz, Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Fred (Lisa) Schultz, of Florence, Ariz.; grandchildren, Fiona, Elodie, Elizabeth, Michelle, Cody and Matthew; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Merna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred, who died in 2002; two sisters and one brother.
Memorial service: Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 10 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.
Burial: A private family committal service will take place at a later date.
