Virgil Gene Vedvig, 55, Minot, died Thursday, March 20, 2014, at his residence.
Virgil was born June 3, 1958, at Minot, the son of Franklin and Delores (Mock) Vedvig. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated with the Bicentennial Class of 1976 at Minot High School. Virgil was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, and was employed throughout the years at various area construction companies as a carpenter. He was disabled due to an accident.
Virgil was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church. He enjoyed all things outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and tinkering on cars.
He is survived by: his daughter, Melody Hanson, Minot; mother and stepfather, Delores and Wes Brandt, of Mesa, Ariz., and Granville; sister, Brenda Vedvig, of Prescott, Ariz.; brother, Dwight Vedvig, Glendale, Ariz.; nephew, Cody Vedvig, Minot; special friend, Georgette Pratt and her grandchildren, Nevaeh, Cash and Henna, Minot.
Virgil was preceded in death by his father, Franklin; an infant brother, Jeffrey; and a host of friends.
Celebration of Life service: Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 11 a.m., in the Veterans of Foreign War Post #753, 1100-31st St. SE, in Minot.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal but friends may sign a memorial register today, March 26, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
