Norman L. Hildenbrand, 80, Minot, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in a Minot hospital.
Norman was born on Oct. 13, 1933, a son of Jacob and Mary (Schlag) Hildenbrand, in Harvey. He was raised in Anamoose. On June 30, 1954, Norman was drafted into the Army. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged June 7, 1956.
On March 4, 1960, Norman was united in marriage to Donna Hamel. Norman worked for Zontelli Construction and for Souris River Telephone until retiring at the age of 55. Norman loved to farm and ranch and did this in the Logan area for over 44 years. When he was not working on the farm, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Norman is survived by: wife of 54 years, Donna Hildenbrand, Minot; children, Jackie (Leon Kristjanson) Hildenbrand, Minot, Janelle (Rory) Schell, Minot, Dean Hildenbrand, Minot; grandchildren, Shawn (Brenda) Kristjanson, Kristy (Craig) Enger, Jheri Rademacher-Hildenbrand, Kelsea Rademacher-Hildenbrand, Eccoe Kristjanson, Kenedee Kristjanson, Sydnie Schell, Carson Schell, Dylan (Alec) Hildenbrand, Shelby Hildenbrand; great-grandchildren, Donovan Kristjanson, Jaycee Kristjanson, Geoffery Enger, Maezee Enger; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond and Arlen; sister, Diane Hildenbrand; and a granddaughter, Kacey Ann Schell.
Private family services will be held with burial taking place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, south of Mandan.
