About 300 airmen from Minot Air Force Base leave for Andersen AFB in Guam on a commercial aircraft Wednesday, shown in this photo by Senior Airman Brittany Y. Auld. The first of several B-52 bombers and aircrews left for Guam on Monday. The other planes were scheduled to leave over the next days. Besides the operators of the 69th Bomb Squadron, one of the base’s two B-52 squadrons, a variety of base organizations will work in tandem to meet the requirements for the deployment, including the 5th Aircraft Maintenance, 5th Munitions, 5th Maintenance and 5th Operations Support squadrons. The deployment demonstrates the U.S.’s continuous commitment to stability and security in the Asia-Pacific Region.
