RUGBY The Rev. Clarence Stanley, 89, Rugby, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, in a Rugby nursing home.

He was born Sept. 3, 1924, to Theodore and Martha Stanley, in Mercer County. He was inducted into the Army in July 1944 and received a medical discharge in January 1945. He married Melva Karges Aug. 14, 1946.

Survivors: sons, Leonard and Eugene; daughters, Sharon Canfield and Alice Abrahamson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Wednesday, 11 a.m., Calvary Evangelical Free Church, Rugby.

Burial: In the spring in Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby.

Visitation: Tuesday, 5 to 7 p.m., in Anderson Funeral Home, Rugby.

Prayer service and sharing of memories: Tuesday, 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
